    USING | Slideshow Lite for Ja Mendozite using Joomla 2.5+

    My apologies. I should not have closed out previous tickets.

    1. The initial problem was that HOME was set to “Featured Articles.” so when you clicked the image in Ja Slideshow Lite it showed the article at the BOTTOM of the Home page. I changed Home to “Single Article.” and now the article shows up by itself BUT ITS STILL ON THE HOME PAGE along with the slideshow.

    2. I tried several ways to link.

    Using SEF:

    <h3>James Hilleary | Washington School of Color</h3>
    <p>July 6 – August 1, 2012</p>

    USING A FORWARD SLASH (which goes to a 404 page):

    <h3>Jack Roth 1927 – 2004 | Color Equations</h3>
    <p>August 3 – September 12, 2012</p>

    using full path and using JUST the article url. It does the same thing! etc etc but it will not JUST go to the article page itself.

    WHY WHY WHY WHY >:(>:(>:(>:(
    And dare I ask why this is so complicated? AND WHY CAN’T I ALSO LINK THE DESCRIPTION…WHY ONLY THE IMAGE?

    Will PM with many thanks.:-*

    Hi Cybernun
    You should use JA Slideshow instead of JA Slideshow Lite because JA Slideshow Lite only supports on JA Zite and JA Wall template.

    Thank you, HeRO.
    I was using Ja Slideshow Lite because I thought it would be more Responsive than Ja Slideshow.
    Isn’t there a snippet of code I could add somewhere to allow it to link simply to an article page?

    Hi Cybernun
    If you want to use JA Slideshow Lite, you must modify in layout of this module by yourself.

    Dear HeRO–

    I downloaded mod_jaslideshow.v2.5.0 and installed
    Using the “ERIO” skin and Profile, I published it on a TEST page.
    Works fine.
    Only one problem.

    IT’S DOING THE EXACT SAME THING WHEN I CLICK THE “MORE INFO” BUTTON! It opens to a different page with Slideshow Lite in slideshow position even though Slideshow Lite is ONLY assigned to HOME page!

    PLEASE LOOK AT THE PAGE JA SLIDESHOW GOES TO:

    index.php/upcoming-2012-2013-exhibitions.html

    WHEN IT SHOULD GO TO:

    index.php/upcoming-exhibitions.html

    So this is not about Slideshow Lite and me modifying anything. This is a glitch and PLEASE ADMINISTRATORS…I sent site info several days ago…PLEASE can you help resolve what appears to be a linking glitch?

    Thank you….:((:((:((:((:((:((

    Hi Cybernun
    Please make sure that you disabled JA Slideshow Lite and clean all cache before testing again.

    Thanks, Hero.
    I did before I posted. Cache often creates an issue but I’m also in dev mode. I also go into FTP to clear cache. Then I clear History & Browser cache.
    I’ve asked for Admin help and sent site details but no response. :((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((
    How can I get an administrator to help? Something is going on. This is now 2 weeks of frustration.

    Hi Cybernun,

    I have checked and could see that you enable JA Slideshow Lite module. Please disable/ uninstall it to get the fix.

    SOLVED! :):)

    1. Cleared out all the resized images from the images/resized/ folder.
    2. Used the full path for the link (which I will have to change once the site goes live). This did not work before when I tried it because the resized folder needed to be cleared out not just the site & browser cache.
    3. And so that those on mobile devices would have less difficulty knowing where to click for link, I added the following:

    templates/ja_mendozite/css/mod_jaslideshowlite.css
    line 130 add cursor: pointer; to the end of that css set

    [ .ja-ss-desc {
    color: whiteSmoke;
    left: 0;
    position: absolute;
    bottom: 30px;
    height: 50px;
    width: 325px;
    background: #4A4A4A
    padding: 20px;
    z-index: 3;
    overflow: hidden;
    display: block;
    text-overflow: ellipsis;
    cursor: pointer; *add this line in
    }

    THANK YOU SWISSA FOR FIGURING THIS OUT!
