Hi I have a slide show running on a website where I am getting the information to be displayed on the slideshow from a category. I what to use the links that I have embedded in the article instead of the default link which links back to the article being shown. Could someone please help me out with how I can do this.
Thanks

How many links are you trying to use within a given slideshow image?Remember, the images used for the slideshow are just that – images. While you can designate a link/url for the image itself, I am not entirely certain that you can embed multiple links within a single slideshow image. (In other words, I do not believe that the slideshow module is configured for such – as opposed to a custom-html module where you can – via html – code in various “hot spots” throughout the custom-html item).
I may be mistaken …. but this is what I believe the situation to be.
If I am misunderstanding the premise of your question, I apologize …. but pleae clarify.

July 3, 2012 at 3:50 pm #459763I have 3 links embedded into each article that is used for each slide. I am not using images from from an images folder. I am getting the information for each slide from articles in a specific category.

July 3, 2012 at 4:11 pm #459771Hmmmm … this is interesting ….. because when I hover over at least two (the top two) links within the item list (within your first slide), the reference url (at the bottom of my screen – I don’t even know what that area is called 😉 ) changes to reflect the link/page that the respective link is supposed to link to.
However, when I click on the link(s), they all take me to the same page.
I’m actually experiencing a somewhat similar situation with a Mendozite based project I, myself, am working on
– SEE HERE – So I’m wondering if this is an issue/bug within the code for the template.(more likely, it’s something simple I’m not seeing … but I’m waiting on some assistance/education on this as well).
So, from what I see in the slideshow images/content you’ve created, it DOES seem that you should be able to accomplish what it is you’re aiming for. I’m just not certain – at this particular point in time – why it is not functioning as it seems it should.
I’ll continue to try to think it through – for both of our issues. If I get an answer within my thread, I’ll see if it might be applicable to your situation as well.
