December 29, 2011 at 12:02 am #172240I have installed and re-installed 5 times the module. If I try to add a new Ja Slide Show Module it will come up and after i fill in all data it will not save. My Save and Save& Close buttons will not do anything. Close works just fine. This problem only happens with Ja Slideshow Module. Any other module i can set up and save and all other functions.
Any ideas? I am super lost on this….

January 12, 2012 at 5:26 am #433504I have this same problem and I am using Joomla 1.7 but my other site is using 1.5 and works just fine.. I would like to know why this is the only module that will not save changes. Help please
January 12, 2012 at 9:56 am #433532I had the same problem and here is a workaround until they fix this bug:
Go To : images/resized/images/stories/demo/slideshow
Delete all content in there
upload images to images/stories/demo/slideshow
Should be good to go..
It’s a frustrating workaround.. hoping for a fix soon.January 12, 2012 at 10:00 pm #433633Thank you for your reply nalireza, but images/resized/images/stories/demo/slideshow does not exist in the first place. So now what? The module points to: images/sampledata/fruitshop

January 12, 2012 at 10:12 pm #433640When you load fotos into slideshow it creates a resize folder. Perhaps you have one at images/resized/sampledata/fruitshop.
Try creating a new folder under images/ called slideshow, upload the images there and then use the path images/slideshow in the module JA Slideshow.
That way everything is new. See if that works for you.
January 12, 2012 at 10:34 pm #433645problem solved.. I installed the latest update 2.2.2 for some reason when I d/l the droid package joomlart did not supply the latest version. Thanx guys I now can sleep.. My client will be happy now..
January 17, 2012 at 12:03 am #434057Another fix I found is to rename the image directory for the slideshow then also change the path in the module. It is frustrating.

January 19, 2012 at 4:55 pm #434510Everything was working fine on my site, i moved it out of its /development directory into the root directory and now my images are gone. They’re in the code however and they load when you go to those URLs, but they are NOT displaying in the site. NOTHING changed eexcept moving the entire joomla install out of the folder it was in.
I’ve tried renaming the folder but still nothing.

January 19, 2012 at 9:21 pm #434536Hi
Looking at my Tiris I have the following thoughts. For what they are worth! 😉
Try changing the code to this
<div class=”ja-slide-item”><img src=”http://www.redhorseprotection.com/images/stories/slideshow37/banner-badge3_993_730.jpg” alt=”To Protect and To ServeWe take pride in security.”/> (or the path of the original images not the resized ones)
I think there might be a script that runs that resizes the images and plonks them in images/resize and then uses them from there. If you try to pick a file from there it can’t save back to a file name that is in use so ignores it. It may be me blowing hot air here but little to lose by trying it.
As you’ve just moved and again me probably offering stupid insights due to lack of experience but one thing that has tripped me up when moving a site was that the configuration.php retained the path to the old tmp folder and then couldn’t access it. Took me ages to work that one out. Once I’d changed that my problem, albeit not the same one as you, went away.

January 19, 2012 at 9:29 pm #434537I’ve updated configuration.php I also noticed that my images from the slide news thing is not working either (those three images below).
My path in the module is /images/stories/slideshow38/
the sourcecode reads /public_html/images/resized/images/stories/slideshow38
None of this should have changed – I dont understand how moving from public_html/dev to /public_html/ would have caused this. I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled the module thinking it was in some kind of module config file and that didn’t help either.

January 19, 2012 at 9:50 pm #434541I haven’t a clue why this happens for some people and not for others. Seems that there is no silver bullet to fix it. Different things work for different people and I agree it seems odd that just moving directory has caused this.
I think that the slideshow that came with Tiris is 2.1.8 looking in the xml file and upthread someone said that upgrading to 2.2.2 solved the problem for them.

January 19, 2012 at 9:59 pm #434544I’m on joomla 1.5 though. I tried to upgrade to 1.0.3 but i’m not an extension member. So i’m limited to the extension that comes with the template, as far as I can tell.

January 19, 2012 at 10:06 pm #434545I don’t think I’m an extension member either but maybe it comes with my personal licenced.
This is the link for it …

Apart from that I’m afraid I’m all out of ideas. The only other thing I would try is if you did the transfer via akeeba or so then reload it into the domain. All depends on how much work you’ve done in the meantime.
If you don’t get anywhere I’d start a new thread just to ensure it gets in front of the mods/techies! 🙂
Wish you the best of luck.
