Hi,
The problem I have is that JA mega menu does not display properly a group, when submenu content (JA Extended) is set to “Modules”.
The idea is to have multiple menu modules that are displayed as groups in a JA mega menu.These are the steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install a quickstart version of JA Social 17.
2. Go to Menus -> Main menu ->Features and set columns to 4, width to 820, add a colw4=200 to widthds), save and close
2. Create a new Menu “Menu module” as a child to “Features” menu, (type as text separator).
3. Set Parameters(JA Extended) to Group YES, and submenu content to Modules. Select “Resources”, or any other module that is a menu module.
4. Save and close.The group gets displayed, but the styling is off.
Please help. The intent is to have menu modules as groups in a mega menu, while setting the modules by name.
If there is anything I’m missing please let me know.
See: http://js17.aelogic.com/index.php/features
And by the way, the same behavior is true for JA Social 15.
Thank you,

December 22, 2011 at 7:57 am #430805Hi,
My knowledge of the template is limited. But your response does not shed any light on the question.
I was browsing and reading through the wiki, I was upgrading it based on my latest experience and using actually the you tube video of how to use the upgrade manager, and so on.Have you tried at least to reproduce the bug? Or if not, have you seen it before? I did spent some time writing down all the steps as accurate as I could. Is this standard behaviour and I’m just missing some customization step?
You have to understand that I wouldn’t have thrown a question without exhausting at my limited knowledge of the template (giving a pretty steep learning curve) all the variants I could think of. Plus I did test it under Joomla 1.5 as well, and it behaves the same. With this understanding, perhaps you could be a little more specific.
Any help would be really appreciated,

Still digging, still no ideas.
Anyone can help?
Is this a matter of having to change the CSS, or it is just a configuration issue?
Much appreciated,

December 22, 2011 at 11:43 pm #430923Hi,
The Features top menu it is supposed to display 4 (four) columns, where the 4th column contains the module called Resources.
As it is seen even in the screen capture you’ve attached, the 4th column of the top menu is empty. There is no module showing up.Thank you,

December 24, 2011 at 12:33 pm #431075weird… anyway..
in demo
it looks like this…
Features ->http://screencast.com/t/opiCp5szYbn7
– Layout ->http://screencast.com/t/J0oqy36UF
–> Menu Showcase
—-> Sample Module
so it looks like this. –>http://screencast.com/t/yXUW6mrp and in the end you wind up gettingnow we want a 4th, so first thing we do is go back to featured and change it as shown
next we add a child menu of features —-> http://screencast.com/t/riUIM2qvnOm and set it like this
if you get http://screencast.com/t/lN0qaenF7nC be sure to get group to yes
so it’s like this http://screencast.com/t/iBCPebvoVN and you wind up getting
December 24, 2011 at 7:25 pm #431100Hi,
I see the login form, and I managed to have another module to show up in position 4. It doesn’t have the same look-and-feel though.
Even in your demonstration above, the letters and the general appearance of the module is altered (some whitish smear of all letters).As I was expressing in the beginning of the thread, the idea is to have multiple menu modules that are displayed as groups in a JA mega menu. They can be displayed, but they do not look like the modules as they are to be found within the page. Is it possible that some CSS or transformation of the look-and-feel takes place?
Thanks,
pmaxan

December 25, 2011 at 5:44 am #431116yes, the styling of the module as a module, will not carry through to the styling of the module as a menu module COMPLETELY.
the whiteish is KINDA the way it shows up in droid normally but thats not 100% accurate. The bottom line is you will likely need to style the module in the menu somewhat.
I would look @ how the menu is handling shadow’s and such which is what it looks like its doing.December 25, 2011 at 5:48 pm #431131Hi,
I understand.
So basically, as far as you can tell at this point, it is a matter of styling, as the module inside menu is getting some weird behaviour.
If you have any pointers or hints that may bring me closer to the source of the issue, I would certainly appreciate the input.
Any idea as of a timeline where you may have time for a more in-depth look at this?Thanks,

January 2, 2012 at 8:24 pm #432199Hi,
There were 2 main problems.
1. a duplication of the title of the module. This was a problem in line 145 of system/jat3/core/menu/base.class.php where the content is passed along with a style of ‘jaxhml’ but the title of the module is already generated so it ends up duplicated in the final rendering.
2. multiple problems in the css for this particular situation.Even though it would work well after all the changes, the solution was unusable in the end due to the fact that the modules are visible/invisible based on positioning, and I did not want to alter this CMS behaviour.
Thanks for your help. As far as I am concerned this problem is solved.
