July 19, 2014 at 8:12 am #199806I have opgraded my Joomla web from 2.5.22 to 3.3.1 with SP Transfer and all goes well.
I install JA Social og JA T3 from the latest Joomla template installation.
This also goes well, or so I thought, but as soon as I open and save the template, the template gets scrambled and looks like this
http://have.bf-data.dk/joomla
the 2.5.22 web http://have.bf.data.dk
hope you have a solution for this
I tried to use JA University, the same happens.
The original server is at http://www.volvoxdk.dk, the other is a copy on a trial server

July 19, 2014 at 2:26 pm #542892HI
i check your site and found that the template you are installed is based on JAT3 that is old version of framwork and currently not supported with joomla3.3 .
you should download the template based on latest T3 and latest T3 plugin not JAT3
Now uninstall the old templates and JAT3 plugin . and download T3 based template +T3 plugin .Here are the download links
For JA social T3
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=503For JA University
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=527let me know if there is any confusion

July 21, 2014 at 8:27 am #542978Hi
http://have.bf-data.dk/joomla is a fresh installation of joomla 3.3.1 with nothing extra installed.
If I try to install plg_system_jasocial.v2.5.4 it works fine but plg_system_t3.v2.3.0 fails.
So I can install the old version but not the new one, and it’s only the theme and plg_system_t3.v2.3.0 that will not install.
Shall I keep Joomla 2.5.22 og do you have a solution?

July 21, 2014 at 5:17 pm #543029Hello
We have two framework for this template
1. JAT3 (Not Responsive)
2.T3 (Latest+Responsive)IF you will install the template and plugin based on JA T3 it will use the old framework that is not responsive for mobile ,tablet devices . This is the reason i suggest you to use latest T3 .
If you are starting a fresh development site you can use the quickstart package of the templates that will make the things easy for you .
If you are moving from an old template to a new template then you need to install template + T3/JAT3 plugin .
<blockquote>Shall I keep Joomla 2.5.22 og do you have a solution?</blockquote>
Yes you can use the joomla 2.5.22
but make sure the template is compatible with Joomla version .
Try to upload the T3 2.3.0 via install from directory option from extension manager if you are facing issue in direct install .
let me know if you have any issue in thisalexsmirnov Friendalexsmirnov

July 21, 2014 at 9:07 pm #543041Hi Bjørn,
Apology, sir, on behalf of the team for loosing my previous post with detailed “J!2.5/JA Social -> J!3.3/JA Social” migration instructions. Hopefully, this glitch of the system did not destruct you. In any case, let me reiterate it once again for you.
To migrate your old JA Social/Joomla 2.5 web-site to Joomla 3.3 with our latest JA Social template and our latest T3 framework, please try the following:
1 Create a new database
2 Create a new sub-folder
3 Install into these new database and sub-folder our ” JA Social T3 for J3.3″, – JA Social quick start package based on Joomla 3.3 and latest T3 fremework
4 Test your new test site
5 Once happy, install on it “SP Transfer”
6 Using “SP Transfer”, transfer one by one your items from your main built on J! 2.5 web-site to this new test site and test them after each transfer
7 Once happy, install on this new web-site “Akeeba Backup” extension and create its full (folders + database) backup copy
8 Create a new database
9 Create a new sub-folder
10 Upload created in step 7 your full site backup archive into this new sub-folder, unpack it, point your browser to this new sub-folder and follow onscreen instructions to install your new JA Social Quick Start/Joomla 3.3 with transferred items from your old web-site
11 Test it
12 Once happy, delete tables from your main running on Joomla 2.5 web-site database as well as its folders and files
13 Repeat step 10, only this time uploading and extracting the backup archive inside your main web-site root folder
14 Test your new based on JA Social QS for J! 3.3 + transferred items web-siteThere you have it.
Once happy with your new JA Social/Joomla 3.3 web-site, I suggest you start gradually deleting Joomla and JoomlArt demo content items, such as demo articles and modules, which you obviously don’t need for your production web-site.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you need more detailed instructions for any of these steps and we will be more than happy to talk you through them.
Should you face any issues generated by “SP Transfer” extension, please address them to its developer at http://cyend.com/extensions/contact-us.
For any of your questions on using awesome “Akeeba Backup” extension, please refer to its comprehensive documentation at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation.html.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alex

July 22, 2014 at 11:20 am #543118Dear Alex
Thank you for all the help. I used quicstart to install Joomla with the Social Theme and strangely enough both The theme and TA3 is working. I have used SP-transfer and it also works. There is a lot to do as names and positions are changed, and there ar links to sort aut that do not work, but I am nearly there.
Then there is all themoduls etc to delete which I shall not use.
There are one major problem Akeeba backup will not install, which is bad. I hope this can be solved.

July 22, 2014 at 8:54 pm #543155Hi Bjørn,
It’s nice to see your JA Social migration is slowly but steadily getting along.
Before we could further help you, may I clarify a few things with you please?
The JA Social web-site you are aiming to upgrade to latest T3 framework and latest Joomla 3.3.x is http://www.volvoxdk.dk? Am I correct?
If Yes, then I would strongly suggest to concentrate all the tasks I listed in my answer #7 for you at that very server with your main site http://www.volvoxdk.dk as opposite to on your trial server. This will significantly simplify our work and save us some time and efforts as well.
What would you say?
Regards,
Alex

July 24, 2014 at 8:01 am #543327Hi again
It’s correct I use a copy of http://www.volvoxdk.dk to upgrade, but it’s a direct Akeeba backup so it’s identical to the original.
This should not be a problem. In the upgraded version I have tried to install JCE and it works fine, so I do not understand why Akkeeba bakup refuse to install. I tried Akeeba Admin tools installs fine. I shall try to install from a directory 7var/www/joomla/akeeba,
And again thanks for your help

July 24, 2014 at 9:05 am #543337Hello again
I tried to install from directory and it worked, so now I think all is working. Some links have to be corrected, I want to take away the topbar, Change the logo, take away Uppercase from menu.
1. Topbar I used to do this
HTML Code:
#ja-topbar {template.css (line 411)
background: url(“../images/header-bg2.gif”) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #2985A8
color: #BAE1EF
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
z-index: 16;
}
toHTML Code:
#ja-topbar {template.css (line 411)
background: url(“../images/header-bg2.gif”) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #2985A8
color: #BAE1EF
display: none;
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
z-index: 16;
}
and then, remove this property::HTML Code:
#ja-header {template.css (line 333)
border-top: 1px solid #4FAED2
margin-top: 29px; >> remove
z-index: 13;
}
Does it still work?
Set Logo
h1.logo { width: 220px; height: 80px; }h1.logo a {
background: url(../images/logo.png) no-repeat left;
display: block;
width: 220px;
height: 80px;
}
Change uppercase
.ja-megamenu ul.level0 li.mega a.mega {
color: #fff
padding: 0 25px 0 10px;
font-size: 110%;
font-weight: normal;
line-height: 40px;
font-weight: normal;
font-family: “Segoe UI”, Arial, sans-serif;
/*text-transform: uppercase;/* Changed this
text-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,.5);
• Ændre overskrifter
/* MODULE STYLES
——————————————————— */
div.ja-moduletable h3, div.moduletable h3 {
background: url(../images/grad-d1.gif) repeat-x left top #238db4
color: #fff
font-size: 110%;
font-family: “Segoe UI”, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 0;
padding: 10px 15px;
/*text-transform: uppercase;*/ Ændret her
This does not work i think
Well, thanks again for your help. I shall return when I have tried the corrections above.

July 31, 2014 at 7:33 am #543993Hello again
I have now made a new upgrade with SP-Transfer and then installing The new Social Theme and the T3 plugin from a directory (/var/www/Volv2/temp/directoryname). This went fine. I have then changed the module positions as the names have changed a lot. also OK.
But the css’s has changed a lot with the update of the Social Thime, so now I have a problem.
Change logo size:
I used to do this
Set Logo
h1.logo { width: 220px; height: 80px; }h1.logo a {
background: url(../images/logo.png) no-repeat left;
display: block;
width: 220px;
height: 80px;
}
But h1.logo does not exist any longer so how can I change it?
Removing topbar:
Used to do this:
HTML Code:
#ja-topbar {template.css (line 411)
background: url(“../images/header-bg2.gif”) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #2985A8
color: #BAE1EF
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
z-index: 16;
}
toHTML Code:
#ja-topbar {template.css (line 411)
background: url(“../images/header-bg2.gif”) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #2985A8
color: #BAE1EF
display: none;
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
z-index: 16;
}
and then, remove this property::HTML Code:
#ja-header {template.css (line 333)
border-top: 1px solid #4FAED2
margin-top: 29px; >> remove
z-index: 13;
}
This does not work any longer.
So how to change this?
And last changing Uppecase does not work either
Used to do this
/* MODULE STYLES
——————————————————— */
div.ja-moduletable h3, div.moduletable h3 {
background: url(../images/grad-d1.gif) repeat-x left top #238db4
color: #fff
font-size: 110%;
font-family: “Segoe UI”, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 0;
padding: 10px 15px;
/*text-transform: uppercase;*/ Changed hereI hope you can help with this as the change in the css’s is really big and I can not find where to do the changes. I can’t even find logo.png in the css.
So All went well with the upgrade apart from these 3 problems.

August 1, 2014 at 7:03 am #544121Hello Bjørn,
I am glad to see you make significant progress with your JA Social migration from J! 2.5 to J! 3.3.
To change your JA Social logo size, please create /templates/ja_social_t3/css/custom.css empty file
and enter in there the following style rules:
.logo-image a {
width: <your_width>px;
height: <your_height>px;
}To customise any other element of your JA Social web-pages, please point your mouse cursor on the element, right-click, scroll down to “Inspect Element”, click on it, play with the styles of the element and once happy, enter them into your custom.css:
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alex

August 3, 2014 at 8:26 am #544309Than you, using “inspect element” works, now it all works but the top bar. My custom.css now look like this:
.logo-image a {
width: 350px;
height: 80px;
}
.t3-mainnav .navbar .nav > li > a,
.t3-mainnav .navbar .nav > li > span.dropdown-toggle {
border-top: 0px none;
padding: 10px 15px;
font-size: 13px;
text-transform: none; >>Changed this
text-shadow: 0px -1px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
font-family: “Segoe UI”,sans-serif;
display: block;
}
.ja-topbar {
background: url(‘../../../images/header-bg2.gif’) repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #394D2E
color: #9CBB8C
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
z-index: 16;
width: 100%;
Display: none;
}
Logo is ok
Uppercase is removed
The topbar is removed but thes is stil a white line where it was.
this line does not exist any longer in the okl template.css:
header {template.css (line 333)
border-top: 1px solid #4FAED2
margin-top: 29px; >> remove
z-index: 13;
}
So how to remove the white line at the top http://have.bf-data.dk
