    Hi,

The log shows that those files doesn’t exist, kindly go to that directory and check if they exist or not. If yes, please check the permission for those files.

hi thanks for the reply, I checked and the files do not exist, however, I do not see why the JA social plugin would be looking to access these?

any other advise would be appreciated.

    thanks.

hi thanks again for taking your time on this.

It is when I go to the Extensions > Plug-in manager > System – JA Social feed

Next to the cron interval level, there is an option to “Run” manually, if I do, then it runs for a time in a new browser tab and then reports the server error. I have quite a large number of youtube profiles set up so am assuming that the server is timing out but I don’t know, this is just a guess as when i disable a large number of the profiles it does not seem to happen.

    any further ideas?

    Hi xumbrella,

I run that cron with Joomla profile at youtube but it works as normal. Could you pm me admin account or your youtube profile? so that I will try to import feed from my end, then we can know if the problem comes from your server or our plugin.

    Regards

I just PM’d you the login in for the site, please have a look and let me know your thoughts. My server admin also contacted me say that I have been getting crazy spikes in traffic from Facebook IP’s that nearly brought down the server and I think it could be linked to the social feed too? would that make sense to you?

    thanks again.

    Dear xumbrella,

    – The error messages in log should not relate to this JA Social Feed plugin, because if this plugin was disable and when you click the cron button, it will direct to index page, if the plugin’s enabled, it displays successfull message when it done. It doesn’t call file like in error message

Depending on the cron interval time, this plugin will check and pull content from social media sites so please try to change the cron interval time to a greater value or disable this plugin if it’s not necessary at this moment and you can enable it again when you wan to pull more social contents

    hi saguaros,

I have the plugin set for an interval of once every 24hrs so not very regularly… I only see the 500 server error when I run the script manually and it appears in the new tab created when the script runs… It is like it does not finish or times out?

    thanks

    Hi stambol,

Your FB, Twitter feeds will be imported to become joomla/k2 content in your site. Hence, please make sure you configure to show these content in right way, you can check out document of this template for more info.

    See you around.

hi saguaros, yes i did think about increasing the max execution time, but this is in the PHP.ini file, correct?

In my installation this is “php.ini.disabled” and i did not want to change it in case this was done for a reason… any please advise if I should rename that file and that it should not affect any other aspect of my site?

    many thanks.

    Hi,

That php.ini file belongs to server side, you can ask your hosting provider for help in this case.
