    That looks odd. All your articles are indeed missing the readmore link. Are you using IE8 to edit your articles? I seem to have similar problems with IE8 and the TinyMCE editor (on any joomla install) on one of my machines but if I switch to Firefox all is fine. Take a carefull look at the code in the editor using the html button and compare the differences to the readmore code between a working article and one that is not working. I am sure you will find they are slightly different.

    Hi Phill,

    that’s the thing… I only use Firefox for editing. I have also checked and rechecked the code in each three articles and all have the same code before and after and in between, just the texts and pictures are different.

    I have this in each arctile:

    <hr id=”system-readmore” />

    I believe this has someting to do with the Comments plugin. Even when I have disables comments for frontpage I get with firebug the div class for Jcomments and underneath that I see the read-more link. On the other 2 articles I do not get the Jcomments to show so no read-more link either…

    I dont do coding so no idea why this is happening. But seems to me that read-more links are not quite working as they should be in this template. Any ideas? I do want to use Jcomments since it has the best captcha. I dont like the difficult captcha images.

    I seem to remember Jcomments being a problem elsewhere. I’ll do a little research when I get home.

    Ok, So sorry for my delayed response… Been away a bit. So the fix you provided worked for the most part, and again I really appreciate all the time you all have taken. Here is the issue i see still. If you look at the JA Social demo site and view the blog section on IE7, you will see that the text doesnt wrap under the FB and Tweet boxes. This also causes a serious problem for the fix you provided as it gets all jacked up.

    I’m hoping that we can 1 get the IE7 view straightened out so it works as it does in all other browsers and 2 get the read more button to show when appropriate and to show in line with the comment button as seen in the normal joomla artical view.

    Any help you could provide would be really great!

    Thanks! Josh

    ***Here is an update. i just checked the demo site and it looks as though you all have changed the tweet and FB layout… Is it possible that it is due to the IE 7 problems I saw before (maybe i’m going crazy)***

    Either way, maybe if you can help me get it working like it is on the demo site then it is possible they have fixed the read more issue?

    Ok, the readmore link appeared as I suggested earlier to be in the incorrect div hence it being miss alligned. Moving the div also seems to fix the issue with jomsocial but I have not done enough testing to be 100% sure of that part.

    I was going to post a fix but having looked on JIRA I noticed that the developers have been very busy today working on many bug fixes for JA Social and this one seems to have been included. Please be patient as if the activity on the JIRA is anything to go by we will have an updated version of the template soon.

    Thats really great news!!! as a quick side note, I’m sure they already know, but the slideshow on the front page of JA Social is broken in IE8. The gradient image around it disappears

    Thanks again! – Josh

    There also appears to be a lot of activity on the JA Slideshow module too. Let’s wait and see what happens next week.
