Just to let you know, JA Social has a bug in the template.

I spent a considerable amount of time and effort (a whole lot) trying to figure out why the top-panel position in the module mgr module filter did not show the Top-panel position as previewed in the module map. Turns out you have to type it in then module filter and then go to your template details xml file and enter it in there also.

For anyone new to this, you’ll want to type your module position exactly as it appears in the module map. Then go to template mgr- choose templates (not style) – click on JA Social details and files – scan down to template details.xml – click it – scroll down to where the list of module positions is displayed and enter it (the module position) exactly as the others.

Normally you wouldn’t have to do this but it looks like someone forgot to include the necessary information in the template (or otherwise misconfigured the layout). Either way, here’s the work around for the time being. It just may save you tons of time and headache. 😮

What exactly JA Social package are you talking about:

Joomla 3.2 & 2.5 (JA T3v2 Framework) – JA Social for Joomla 3.2 and Joomla 2.5 (JA T3v2 Framework)

or

Joomla 3.2 & 2.5 (T3 Framework) – JA Social for Joomla 3.2 and Joomla 2.5 (T3 Framework)

Did you test our JA Social as a quick start installation or as a standalone template? On what Joomla version?
