    Hi All,

I have been facing since the launch of my website http://www.ael-algerie.com with a serious slowness issue. Over 20 second for the frontpage to load when visited for the first time. Generally speaking, menue items, articles, even with cache enabled, it takes up to 5 seconds to load.

I have been seeking for help, first with Joomlart developpers and my host ipage but all the tips they advised did not bring any diffrence:

    – turn cache on
    – optumise css and js
    – swith off modules and plugins
    – optimise database tables

I checked with my host, ipage, the bandwidth is unlimited and the server setting & htaccess are set properly.

I also archive my articles on regular basis but the site load time changes for few minutes but then goes back to its original state.

I would appreciate any effective help on the issue. JA SOcial is really a great template, I like the way it is designed, it is easy to update, but the slowness of the template comdemns my site.

    Please help.

    A thousand thanks,

    Khaled

    Hi Khaled,

There are many ways to speed up your website:

+ Remove unnecessary White Space in HTML
    + Minify Javascript and CSS
+ Reduce requests by combining HTML, CSS, and Javascript
+ Optimize all your images – Most if not all should be at least below 10kb
    – Crop the white space using Photoshop
    – Use PNG8 Files or GIF files rather than Jpegs and don’t use transparency
    – Make images the size you want rather than resizing them in the editor
+ Uninstall any components/modules/plugins that you don’t actually use
+ Use Gzip Compression to Reduce HTML Size
+ Enable Caching as much as possible (page caching, view caching, module caching)

    Regards

    Hi Ninja Lead,

    Many thanks for your advice.

I tried them all except maybe for the size of images ( I use resize but this why JA Social is a great template), I use GIF as much as I can.

I have been advised to look at below web site to analyse my site’s performance, there are some interesting points but I am not sure I know how to make the right changes to make the site load quicker.

Please let me know what you think.

    Many thanks,

    – js and css was compressed.

    – Many images are loading page slow need to improve them

I have checked your site and see 60% image loading on your site, you need to optimize image on your site.
