Hello all! I just installed JA Submit, it looks nifty. But I have a small problem. I have several sections on my joomla 1.0.12 site that all have the same category names. For example, I have “Baseball” section and a “Hockey” section, but both contain the category “News”.

When I go to JA Submit, it is not possible for me to tell which “News” category I am submitting to. I’ve got 20-30 sections like this, each with 5 categories so changing each category to be more descriptive isn’t the solution I’m looking for.

Has anyone else bumped into this, and if so, is there a patch/code change I could make to include the name of the section when displaying the category name? (e.g. Baseball/News or Hockey/News)?

There are two ways for JA Submit to do what you need. You can download and install JA Submit TWEAKED (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-submit-tweaked/) and get both a ‘Section’ and ‘Category’ drop down menu box to choose from. Or you can alter your existing code (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/categories-with-section-names/) to get a drop down menu box listing that includes both your ‘Section/Category’ on a single line listing.

I started using the ‘Section/Category’ patch and it worked for me. However, my users found it to cluttered and a little confusing. This is when I had JA Submit re-programmed to include both a ‘Section’ and a ‘Category’ drop down menu box. With the TWEAKED edition you first select the ‘Section’ and once selected, it populates only ‘Categories’ associated with the specific ‘Section’ chosen. Once I started using the TWEAKED edition, my users support questions dropped to almost zero regarding how to post and submit an article.

I hope this information helps you in getting JA Submit working the way you need it to.
