With other Joomla templates i am used to just editing the xml file for the template and adding a new position and then adding the code to the index.php file for the template

January 29, 2011 at 3:11 pm #374373Since Joomla 1.6 does not display dates of installation or versions for Plug-ins (which is a hugh oversight) I suggest you add the version number to the plug-in descriptions going forward. Otherwise how can we know which version we have iinstalled?

January 31, 2011 at 3:58 am #374542@gschaefer , Yes the video tutorial covers that part and you can also refer to the wiki for the module position addition >> http://wiki.joomlart.com/wiki/JA_T3_Framework_2/Guides#Layouts . If you are not sure of how to do it. Raise a new thread with your requirement in your template forum. Make sure to clearly state where you want a new module position, if required provide a screenshot with rough drawing. Support staff will then give you step by step guide for making it.
Yeah, even i find it confusing to verify the version and date of file in the joomla 1.6 backend. I am not sure changing the plugin name everytime with version change is the right option. We would wait and see how others are doing and whats recommended by joomla.org

January 31, 2011 at 4:24 am #374548I have found where the Joomla tema hid version information. It is now in the manage tab with the Extension Manager.
