Hello,
I tried installing Community Builder 1.7 (the latest version) on my Joomla 2.0 JA T3 framework website, but I would receive this error message every time: “Error building Admin Menus”. It is a fresh new installation of Joomla. I literally just installed the JA T3 2.0 quickstart package and immediately tried to install CB 1.7 via the Extension Manager and was presented with that error message.
I found this solution (http://www.joomlapolis.com/forum/146-general/171339-community-builder-not-creating-admin-menus#176069), but when I go into the database, there is no item at all under jos_menu called “comprofiler”, so there is no ID for me to update.
After a bit of trial and error, I was finally able to get CB to install on my JAT3 2.0 J 1.7 website. Here are the steps I took:
I deleted the database altogether and also wiped the server.
I installed the official Joomla 1.7. I then installed CB (successfully) and then installed the JA T3 plugin with the extension manager. Looks like it was a complete success.
I then wiped the server and dropped the db yet again and installed the official Joomla 1.7. I installed the JA T3 plugin with the extension manager and then installed CB (successfully). Looks like it was a complete success as well.
So maybe there’s something in the JA T3 2.0 quickstart package that doesn’t play nice with the CB installation package. FYI, I also experienced this same issue with the JAT3 1.7 quickstart package.
Any ideas on whether this is something that can be “fixed” in the JAT3 package so that the quickstart can be used alongside CB?

I learned about T3 Framework last night, and I played around with it a lot..I “NEED” to use Community Builder, and that of course was an obvious fear whether this modified joomla will work well with CB, so I googled up this thread “before” trying CB installation.
I installed CB, configured it to my needs, and here I want to mention that it worked out of the box, just normally.
Good luck! 😎
