September 23, 2011 at 6:55 pm #168884Can somebody explain in step-by-step settings of JA Tabs & Bulletin Modules for the Most Read and Latest News as can be seen here for JA Telline III for J1.5?
All available info is outdated and misleading. Therefore, I am not surprised that there are so many unnecessary questions and problems posts on Forums.

You’re saying that the information provided within the JA TELINE III User Guide is “outdated and misleading?”How is it “misleading?”

You misunderstood post. Post refers to JA Teline IV.
The information provided within the “JA TELINE IV – User Guide” is useless.
It refers for example to JA Tabs for Joomla! 1.5 etc.
Try to set up JA Tabs & Bulletin Modules for the Most Read and Latest News in JA Teline IV for J1.7 and see for yourself.TomC ModeratorTomC

Yes, it is incorrect.
For example: “4.5 JA Tabs” require “Module Suffix: -tabs”.
But, on the template there is no place for it to input!
There is no place for the HTML Code too.<blockquote>The settings for JA Tabs are different?</blockquote>
Seems to me that they are different because I cannot set these tabs.gjensen Friendgjensen

September 24, 2011 at 5:34 pm #414700And there is another member who has similar problem because there is no actual information for setting the Teline IV for J17.
I am not surprised that there are so many unnecessary question and problem posts on Forums.

September 24, 2011 at 8:15 pm #414729Sounds like there are some fundamental mis-understandings about Joomla! itself here:
<blockquote>I’m having a problem with JA TAbs to in Joomla and Teline IV 1.7 . The instructions posted are for Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.5</blockquote>
If you’ll notice, the difference between Joomla! 1.6, and 1.7 is very small. Pretty much, from a users perspective, no difference at all.
So documentation specific to 1.6, is also viable, and perfectly fine for 1.7. You’ll notice the same process in the official Joomla! Documentation (http://docs.joomla.org, which I would encourage you to check out) where many of the documentation articles for 1.6 are also used for their same purpose in 1.7.<blockquote>For example: “4.5 JA Tabs” require “Module Suffix: -tabs”.
But, on the template there is no place for it to input!
There is no place for the HTML Code too.</blockquote>Of course, module class suffixes go into the MODULE, not the template, so not sure how this is a problem with the template.
And, in the same manner, HTML code you want to display on a page goes into either a module or article as well.1 user says Thank You to jneubauer for this useful post

So, if it is so easy please explain in step-by-step how to set up JA Tabs & Bulletin Modules for the Most Read and Latest News in JA Teline IV for J1.7 by using all available for Teline IV forJ17 userguide, installation and configuration info etc.

September 24, 2011 at 9:45 pm #414740Yes, please explain what to do. The Joomla 1.7 TelineIV package seems to be missing some of the needed files/scripts for JA Tabs. I only
have JA Tabs showing under Plugins nothing under Modules.q1234321 Friendq1234321

Yes, you are right.
There are only JA Tabs plugin and JA Bulletin module.
However, in process of creating of Most Read and Latest News modules you need to create the JA Tabs module first in position: col-mass-top.
Only after this you can create JA Bulletin modules for Latest News and Most Read.My research revealed that :
JA Tabs plugin for J17 is tested for J16 only and is not ready for J17.
JA Bulletin module for J17 is tested for J16 only and is not ready for J17.
When they are going to be released? The moderators should tell us.

As they work within our Teline IV J1.7 demo, my recommendation would be to cross-reference your personal configurations with that of the demo version – perhaps by setting up a temporary demo clone via our Demo Builder (which gives you temporary access to the site backend administration as well). Also, see section 4.12 within the JA Teline IV User Guide – describes the social icons configurations

September 26, 2011 at 2:27 am #4149481. Uploaded and installed JA Tabs system plugin from this page http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=20381
2. I made a custom html module title JA Tabs in position sl1-r and
3. copied JA Bulletin and renamed it Latest News then select which categories to be displayed, number of items, which page to display, etc.Voila I had Tabs on the homepage at the top of the page!
