May 19, 2012 at 3:51 pm #177280I am using the K2 component on a series of pages on a site. I would like to use the JA Tabs plugin within the content of the K2 item, but when I do, the whole page errors out. If I disable the JA Tabs plugin from the admin section, the page comes up, if I enable it, it goes down.
The error that I’m getting, I’m feel that this has something to do with K2, but it only happens when the JA Tabs are present. When I use the JATabs in a regular article, they work. I’d like to use the Tabs in th context but I can’t get it to work and I’ve had to resort to a slider plugin instead.
Here’s the JA Tabs code I’m using:
{jatabs type="articles" ids="81,82" view="introtext" ajax=true position="bottom" animType="animMoveHor"} {/jatabs}
Here’s the error that is produced:
Fatal error: Call to a member function setState() on a non-object in /home/vao/public_html/plugins/system/jatabs/jatabs.php on line 490
Please help. 🙂

May 23, 2012 at 3:27 am #454419Hello slavelle,
As of now, JA Tabs doesn’t support K2 component. It only supports Joomla content one.
Feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best regards.

May 23, 2012 at 9:48 pm #454596I’m not trying to get JA Tabs to display K2 content. I am trying, instead, to display non-K2 content within the K2 content item.
For example, I have 20 products in four categories which are all standard Joomla items.
I am using the JA Tabs component to display these four categories, but doing so by placing the {jatabs} … {/jatabs} bits in the actual body of the K2 content item. Would really help if this could work, as I can’t seem to find a similar PLUGIN for Joomla that does this as simply (if it worked).
Looking for other ideas if not this direct solution.

Hello slavelle,I said JA Tabs didn’t support K2 component. It means you can’t place the {jatabs} … {/jatabs} in K2 item content.
You can put {jatabs}…{/jatabs} in a custom module, then place this module position at K2 item page.
Best regards.

May 24, 2012 at 2:01 pm #454715Ok. Bummer. The reason the JA Tabs appealed to me is that they are a plugin. I would have to create a lot of static modules for each of the things I would want to load to make that work. I’ll give the Flexi Code module a few thoughts and see if I can make that work.
Thanks,

May 31, 2012 at 2:04 am #455485Ok – well for anyone following this who may be interested in doing this, I found a way to make it work:
Added the Flexi Custom Code module, put my {jatabs} code in there, assigned it to a “non module position”, like tabs-go-here or whatever, then in the K2 item, just do a {loadposition tabs-go-here}.
This will cause the flexi module to be loaded into place, then the tabs can be rendered in there.
This might work with another custom code-like module, but I know it works with this one. This accomplishes what I needed, even though I’m probably not going to use it now! 🙂
Hope this helps someone.
