Hello,
I was wondering if it’s possible to change tabs area width to make it fit into a narrower column.
Thank you.

April 18, 2007 at 5:08 pm #218358Hi Luis,
the width of the tabs module is dynamic, as you can see when you choose auto width for the site. Therefor it should fit into another module position without problems.

April 18, 2007 at 5:24 pm #218359Hi Bernhar, thanks a lot for your reply.
I still have some doubts about this.
Is ja-tabs a module? I know it works as a module, but since it is not listed among “site modules”, I can’t see parameters, settings and position.
I created ja-tab1 and ja-tab2 but as far as I know this is for referring other modules to to tabs. Not for putting tabs into another module.
I’d like to know how could I put ja-tabs into another module?
Thank you.

April 18, 2007 at 5:35 pm #218360Luis,
I said it should fit but I didn´t say that it is possible to do it by just setting the parameters like with other modules. Maybe it is wrong to call it a module therefor. What I meant was that there is a block of code in the index.php of the template that calls this “tabs-thing” to appear. In order to have it appear in another place you have to change index.php by hand, but if you dont´t know how this is done, I propose to stay away from such hacks, because Joomlart staff will probably not support it.
PM me, if you want to try it.Bernhard
April 18, 2007 at 5:42 pm #218362Bernhard,
I can edit my template index.php. If the solution is to pick a piece of code and move it into another place, I can do it. I just want to know where to put it. After the ending of columns, for example?
Thanks again.

April 18, 2007 at 5:54 pm #218364You said that you want it inside some narrower column. Which one? Below the left/right columns it would have the same width as where it is now. Or do you want it in module position left or right?
April 18, 2007 at 6:02 pm #218368I would like to put it in “right” position.
Thanks a lot.

April 18, 2007 at 6:12 pm #218369Try copying the block of lines 277-313 and place it between lines 331 and 332. This is just a guess but you should get the idea. Haven´t tried it myself.
April 18, 2007 at 6:29 pm #218372I got an error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/iruya/public_html/noticias/templates/ja_teline/index.php on line 454
Maybe I should add or delete an } or some closing sign.
Any idea?
Thanks.

Hi Luis
I’d suggest leave the code alone, and PM one of the developers, they are busy and don’t get to come here often due to work loads but are always helpful, they are experts on code and will have little trouble point you in the right direction
