October 21, 2008 at 9:27 am #276417Very nice community site. Why don’t you add also a video component? HWmediashare is a very good one.
swemmel;86999We dropped vBulletin, because the bridge we used did not work properly together with Joomla in combination with Community Builder. So we switch to the latest release of Fireboard.
Were you using the JVBridge from elearningforce? I’m using it since one year and when I had some issues its developers kindly supported me. It’s working like a charm on my website. 🙂

Thanks for the comment. Yes, we were using JVBridge. The problem was not Joomla <-> vBulletin. But we are using the latest version of Community Builder. The plugin is not compatible with the latest version. And the developers only will make a compatible plugin when Community Builder 1.2 Stable is released. So that is one of the reasons we switched to Fireboard. Another one is the discuss-bot for Fireboard. This makes automatically a new Fireboard thread as soon as you click the discuss-link in an article. 😀 And this was a highly wanted feature of the owner of the site.
Besides that, I do not like the one-way traffic behaviour of a bridge (any bridge). Fireboard is seamlessly integrated in Joomla. But that is personal. By the way, the JFusion plugin is a very promissing bridge, wich already have seamles integration of SMF in joomla. Keep track on this beautiful bridge. It is Joomla-native and works with Community Builder too.

October 27, 2008 at 8:43 pm #277076The site looks great!
You should be proud indeed on this one 🙂
Couple things you should maybe consider:
-enable page compression for faster loading of the page.
-Installing a SEF module for more readable urls (can help with google results aswell)And the last thing the link in the right corner “Pocket PC best site” the link doesnt work (404)

May 21, 2009 at 9:10 pm #305423Hi Swemmel,
I am also using teline ii for http://www.thecommonwealthgames.org/delhi-2010 and was having issues making the CB login module appear like the standard joomla login.
You have done the clever thing of circumventing the problem instead of solving it! The slide-down effect of the login module is neat.
Only one issue: even after one logs in as a user, the dropdown tab still reads “Member Login” while it should actually say “Member Logout”.

Hi mj1256,
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I will not be able to take advantage of your login module it since requires the Legacy mode for 1.5.
I cannot enable legacy mode due to conflicts with other extensions I am using.
I definitely use it when it becomes 1.5 Native. Do let me know.
Many thanks!

May 23, 2009 at 2:34 am #305600First try to enable legacy but just for the installation. When the module is installed and it is built on the last CB Login module, the procedure is known as something like “CB modules say they need legacy mode but really don’t, so turn legacy on for install, then when installed, turn it off again and it will still work out fine”..
This is something like a bug and also even documented when you take a look at the read me in the download of the original CB and CB Login extension…
This should work at least!;)
May 23, 2009 at 8:19 am #305626Thanks for the heads-up, it works just fine after following your instructions!
One more question which I hope someone can help me with… I would like to replicate the original login style of Teline II with this new login module.
I mean I would like the links just to appear as Login & Create an Account in the JA-Login position. When they are clicked, the relevant ajax popup with the login/registration form opens up.
Is it possible to replicate this feature using the JA highslide “CB” login for JATeline II?
Thanks again for the help!!

May 23, 2009 at 9:02 am #305634This can be done with using JA Highslide but is not as easy as it sounds…
May 23, 2009 at 9:34 am #305638Can i find a step-by-step guide somewhere to do this?
Or… is there anyone who has already implemented this and would be so gracious as to share the code?

June 8, 2009 at 12:49 pm #307304Hi Peter, I really wanted to have a look at this site. Judging from all the comments, and all the extentions you used it should be interesting. But the site does not load. It is down for some reason?
