I used quickstart to install the latest version of JA Teline II on a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.7, then migrated content from the previous 1.0.15 installation.

None of the content-based images appear on either the front page or elsewhere. The JA Teline II plugins generally show the stock images. However, neither JA News nor JA News Frontpage show any images.

I have tried numerous combinations of settings in the backend and in the actual content, but nothing seems to work.

The content from 1.0.15 had been included with the complete path, like this:
    http://ts-si.org/images/stories/ObamaMcCainSplitScreen.jpg

Now the content shows a truncated version, like this:
    stories/ObamaMcCainSplitScreen.jpg

I have tried to manually insert leading “/”. etc. but to no effect. I realize that relative addressing is best, but how do I make that happen? The images for “Hot Topics” appear just fine. Why the difference?

Thank you for any help or suggestions,
    Sharon

    Sharon,

It would appear your problem is a simple one…your images are simply not in the folder the site thinks they are in.

The great thing about Joomla! though is that in the source code of the created page, it will tell you where it’s looking for it…just not finding it.

If you can give me a live URL to a page where the images should be showing, but aren’t, we can quickly figure out where you need to put them…or at least let us know where it’s looking.

    John.

The page source shows the location as

    img src=”/images/resized/images/stories/obamamccainsplitscreen__.jpg”

The interior page source shows the same thing. However, JA News can’t fetch the image to resize it.

The Global Confoguration setting is images/stories. I have tried without success to use /images/stories.

    Hi Sharon,

Tried to view your site, but I see it’s down for maintenance.

What folder exactly is the obamamccainsplitscreen__.jpg located?

Have your tried setting the Global configuration to /images/resized/images/stories or images/resized/images/stories?

    Just some thoughts.

It is open for viewing now at http://www.ts-si.org

As you suggested, I tried to change the path in Global Configuration to .
images/resized/images/stories, but it doesn’t work (nor does /images/resized/images/stories
    ).

    Worse, menu navigation stopped working.

    Sharon

    Sharon,

In going to your site…all I am seeing now is a blank screen in IE and FF.

Yes. Things went wrong when I entered the suggested values in Global Configuration. The maintenance screen is up now. However, I set up an id for access:

    Username: test
    Password: tester

Hmmmnnn. Now that doesn’t seem to work. Frustrated.

Can’t get into the administrative area…so can you go in and disable the “sidebar” plugin for a moment.

    Thanks
    John.

And disable JomComment too if you can.

As it happens, iJoomla is on the site working on a finish to the sidebars migration.

As for JomComment, there is now “off” switch”. I have to uninstall the software. Stand by. I will post when it is done.
