Before anyone asks i have used the account of a licensed member to download the template.
I downloaded Ja teline 11 and am having problems installing it properly the two files i downloaded were the 1.5 teline 11 package and the source files package.
Btw i’m a begginer 🙂 – I managed to install the actual template through first unpacking the zip package of 1.5 ja teline and uploading the template zip. I did this because joomla said it could not locate the xml file.
My question is —V
Basically i now can’t find any modules that are included with ja teline 11, am i missing where they are or have i not installed a package.ShannonN FriendShannonN

January 23, 2009 at 10:11 am #287773If you downloaded the J 1.5 quickstart you merely unzip that to your hdd and then upload all the unzipped files to your host. when completed you then login to host and that uploaded site, it will automatically ask you to complete some questions and ask for hostname etc etc fill those in and it then installs the package with all modules present the same as the teline 2 demo
If you need specifics for teline 2 you will need the licensed user to give you access to the teline 2 forum thread or get them to post your questions
Hope this helps somewhat

January 23, 2009 at 10:15 am #287774It is easier to just install the quickstart package. Inside the Quickstart folder is a zip file qs……zip That is the one you install.
Unzip it in your root folder, and use your browser to go to yoursite/installation and for the rest you follow the instructions.
Then you don’t have to worry about the mocules later. they will already be included.

January 23, 2009 at 10:20 am #287775Well answered, SannonN,
You must have answered while I was writing as there was no answer when I started. Didn’t really need to duplicate your answer.
January 23, 2009 at 11:10 am #287795I usually upload the files with the joomla Extension Manager, for instance that is what i did with the teline template file and it located the xml file.
Unpacking the quickstart which was located in the main zip ja_teline_ii_for_joomla_1.5.v1.6 along with extensions and others zips i am unable to upload the files through the extension manager as there are multiple files and i gather the extension manager usually uploads zips with xmls within them.
Anyway i take it this is not the place to upload the files.
Plus to clarify the quickstart zip file is located within the ja_teline_ii_for_joomla_1.5.v1.6 we download from this site.Do you mean then that i should not use the Joomla extension manager to upload and instead use an outside souce to upload the files.
If so i use something called cpanel which i gather means control panel and is a standard for web hosting i have access to this should i upload the files there? If so HOw :S
Thankyou for your help.
P.s i wonder why i can install the template file directly through Joomla while the module files are not simply included and i haveto install through an external source ?

January 23, 2009 at 11:41 am #287798If you have Cpanel, you use the file manager to upload the sip. Mine was called ja_teline_ii_quickstart.zip when I downloaded it, but they may have changed the name to qs something.
Unzip or extract the file.
Then use FF or IE or some browser to install.
Type the url as if you were to view the site http://www.website.com/installation and follow instructions.
Gotta go, but will try to explain more later if you still need help
January 23, 2009 at 12:41 pm #287809I uploaded ja_teline_ii_for_joomla_1.5.v1.6 to the cpanels filemanager.
and selected public/html
then got
Extract
Type the path you wish to extract
/public_html/Quickstart/quickstart_joomla158.zip
to (if you enter a directory that does not exist it will be created, and the archive extracted in the new directory) and press “Extract”:i did it to /public_html/Quickstart
then got
Archive: /home/reporter/public_html/Quickstart/quickstart_joomla158.zip

at this point it would probably be best to contact the licensed member you got the template from, he has access to the restricted parts of teh Forum that has a tutorial on how to install quickstart packages, we have tried hard to help, but if we go much further on a public area we are in breach of the restrictions needed to avoid piracy, I’m sure you will understand our position, I don’t want to sound rude but I may lose my membership or be censured if I help too much 🙂 also the person who gave you the template may be censured for distributing it depending on the circumstances, up to the Moderators I expect to decide
Cheers ShannonNJanuary 23, 2009 at 1:04 pm #287813Ok i understand, thank you for the help. hopefully this might help others who have had similar issues. I didn’t go directly to the Ja teline 11 area because there appears to be no posts there.
Anyway thankyou for the help!sunrise Friendsunrise

January 23, 2009 at 1:51 pm #287828Another tip would be to goto the Joomla forum and study up a bit on Joomla as well, find out more details, how things work, before starting your website. There are lots of free Joomla tutorials about installation, Web design using Joomla, etc. Study that and things will be a lot easier once you start,
