November 29, 2011 at 6:36 pm #171253I was desapointed to see the release of Kranos today, I was expecting to see a Ja-Teline V template instead, as every year realease, since this was not the case, is there any idea when Tiline V will be out, specially when we are having so many issues with Teline IV?
Thanks.

Might I inquire as to what elements you would expect to see in a “Teline V” that you do not see and/or cannot accomplish with any other existing template within the Teline series? It is not always the case that the “new shiny toy” is necessarily better that those that came before it. 😎

December 5, 2011 at 12:22 am #427934Hello TomC,
Thaks for asking, let me start by saying that Teline is one if not the most professional well done job templates I have ever seen for Joomla, starting with the first version it was a one of a kind and it continue to be follow by Teline II, then things started to get a little crazy with the release of Teline III, which I myself do not think was upgrade to 1 and 2, then Teline IV comes around and it looks so much better than any other version that anyone on Teline would sacrifice time or $$ to upgrade and have the look and feeling of this incredible. well but lets get to the point.<blockquote>Might I inquire as to what elements you would expect to see in a “Teline V” that you do not see and/or cannot accomplish with any other existing template within the Teline series?</blockquote>
Not a lot indeed, but for me, and I respect everyone taste, I think that tools where users can play around with is not very professional, so I do not like the idea of having these extra on my site, Yes I know they can be disabled in the back end but maybe the same time used to add these features could be have been used to something more of an advantage to the site owner:a)I posted this request in the forum:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja_teline-v-request-or-question-for-teline-iv-if-possible/…
I hope it gets done, I would take advantage of these features.b) The only tool I would allow a user to change is Font size, because some people can not read small text.
c) I have been trying to set up a Quick Start of Teline IV and during the editing of the articles and changing menus names and cat names, I guess my database gets corrupted or for some reason the cache system on this template is not allowing me to succeed, UN-explainable but true.
Besides, I think there is always improvement that can be done.
Just my thoughts Mr. TomC, I do love this template and I am fighting to get it to work, I also understand that is not always the code that fails it could also be the user, so I am trying hard to understand my steps and find what I’ve done wrong to corrected. Thanks

For sure, my friend . . . . I ask pointed questions, sometimes, to try to see what you might be thinking with a request such as this. It’s is useful information toward presenting said requests to our JA Development Team for when they put this project on the development schedule.
In fact, how about we start RIGHT HERE[/url] ??
😎

- HTML5
- RESPONSIVE
- super-great SEO possobilities
- more colorful (changing menu and headline color isnt colorful. please, not so black-white oriented), possobilities to change background easily
- Advertisment inside of articles
- Ja News FP, jquery story slider ( http://extensions.bowthemes.com/images/bt-slideshow-pro-themes.jpg )
- Ja News, article showing and listing needs lot of improvment ( http://www.joomlart.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=18299&d=1325518004 ), we need more ways to show articles and categories… just shoot all categories in same way isnt cool and not catching readers eye…
Ja Nex was something to right direction, but missing jquery story slider and all article categories are there with the same looking….we need that in one row categories is in one way and second and third are something different, look my picture about my example..

Been a while since there was any kind of active discussion on this topic, huh?Several years now since Teline IV … I would say that it is about high time to start seriously contemplating a new addition to the Teline family – especially with the pending advent of Joomla 3.0.

In my opinion, I will love to see a new Teline V looking similar to “the sun” website: http://www.thesun.co.uk/

There is lot of “I” people, some like the sun and others not. For me The Sun like template would be just awesome! ..because traditional Teline is so boring.
We dont need templates what is good for developers, web makers etc… we need templates what is useful and eye-catchy for our visitors. If there no visitors why you are doing that website? ..so The sun is really good template for visitors!!
I contribute some links what i think is good and something different then Teline traditional:

That would be an “I” opinion as well … as “The Sun” website gives me a headache just looking at the front page<em>@zorroh 350310 wrote:</em><blockquote>I contribute some links what i think is good and something different then Teline traditional:

There are actually variations of both of those designs within existing JA Templates<em>@zorroh 350310 wrote:</em><blockquote>

That one is actually pretty nice looking – aesthetically<em>@zorroh 350310 wrote:</em><blockquote>Some News-sites with creative design:

Now THAT site might be a decent inspirational framework for what could go into a “Teline V” – with the additional features available via Joomla 3.0+, K2, JAT3, etc.😎

December 23, 2012 at 7:12 pm #477301I would love to see TELINE series continue, that is one of the most useful template built by JA – EVER. Not only it is great for news/magazine sites but the amount of module options, customized component/modules included, the great amount of places where you can place adds makes it best template that JA has made – Period.
Now for the new version it would be absolutely awesome if it was made with new Bootstrap, mobile ready, and with few surprises in the layout modeling.
It is by far the most anticipated template from JA.
Now my friends THAT IS A FACT.

Teline was awesome because of looks as well as because of simplicity from start. The template dont need bunch of images and styles to be great, i would rather teline to be what it really can be, and that is the best at what its made for, not to showcase a site, product or something like that, BUT INFORMATION which should be in the front line of the design, meaning simplistic with image handling, more customized options for modules, K2 for sure etc. i have tons of ideas for this but most of them i have to implement with my team since not all is possible for template developer to add.
but yea, we really need teline to continue good template work.
