When we use the code to turn off Joomlart thumbnails it doesn’t show up in an article but the code shows up in other modules. Please advise!

Format {jathumbnail off} only work for JA Thumbnail plugin and thats the reason you need to be careful in using it in articles dependent on other modules.

Hope it help you can control OFF and ON JA Thumbnail plugin in an article

Ok thanks! So if we were using other modules it would be better to find a different thumbnail resizer, correct?

This will help you work perfect with JA Thumbnail plugin and other module

+ JA Thumbnail plugin to work with category in Article Manger: A, B category
+ For other module select exclude category appear in JA Thumbnail plugin
