    Hi @adrienne pitman,

If you navigate to the article detail page, you will see that the resized image is being used instead of the default one, somehow the image in Category Blog page didn’t use that image.

Did you modify the template or you’re using the original one ? Please try uninstall and reinstall the plugin and recheck.

The template has been slightly tweaked, but nothing too impassive.
The Category Blog view wasn’t touched in the slightest. It is using the blog_item.php override that ships with the template.
Uninstalled / reinstalled the plugin. Same result.

    Hi @adrienne pitman,

I’m trying to replicate the same setting as in your site at my end to see the cause of this matter, please stay tuned and I will reply back shortly.

    Best regards,

    Adam.

    Hi @adrienne pitman,

Thanks for your patience. Somehow the sh4040sef is redirecting all resized images in Category Blog layout to original images. Please temporary disable sh404sef and you will see it work fine.

Permanently disabling sh404sef is not an option, as we need the URLs to be generated in a format that only this component supports.

In any case, I’ve temporarily disabled the extension, cleared the site cache and still get the exact same result. The original images keep showing.

    Hi @adrienne pitman,

It’s because you disabled the JA Thumbnail plugin so you won’t see generated images. As mentioned above, the url to resized images are redirected back to original image, so I asked you to temporary disable sh404sef rather than "you have to disable sh404sef in order to use the plugin".

The question is "why does sh404sef redirected the image url instead of site url only ?". In this case, you might want to recheck your sh404sef configuration or contact its developer for better assistance instead.

    Hi @adrienne pitman,

Sorry for not being clear, I mean if you click the plugin, you will see the Integration Mode is set to Disable instead of Auto.

    Right as rain.
Gonna submit a support ticket to the sh404sef dev.

Thanks a million for your assistance.

The sh404sef developer claims that his extension is not at fault and points the finger to JA Thumbnail.

In his assessment, "sh404SEF is NOT doing any redirect to images. It is simply not activated for images (as per the Joomla API, with which we comply)". He further adds that " those are images, not URLs, and so they are NOT rewritten by sh404SEF in any way, unless that plugin is doing something stupid like using Route on them.""

Since no one is taking responsibility, I will have to look for an alternative, regrettably.

Found a plugin that does the job correctly, even when sh404SEF is enabled.

    No need to investigate further.
