June 2, 2009 at 12:15 am #141610Hello Friends,
I have asked a similar question in a previous post, but I’m going to take another angle on this.
I have installed JA Topaz 1.5 ( not quick start)
I am unable to get the Main menu drop down function to work. I have tried Split/CSS/Moo and non make the function work.
Am I supposed to install anything else to make the Split/CSS/Moo functions to work? is there a module extension I am missing or need to intsall?
Any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you

June 2, 2009 at 5:09 pm #306536Hello,
I don’t think it’s not working, rather there appears to be a z-index issue with either the menu or slideshow. The dropdown does show, it’s just hidden by the slideshow. Look for any z-index refrences in either the menu css or slideshow css and change them. I.e menu css change the z-index to 999 or 1002. Or higher
Let me know if it works.daylin Frienddaylin

June 2, 2009 at 5:31 pm #306540I changed the z-index from default 99 to 1002 with no luck. http://www.daylinglobal.com/gateway/ is the site in question.
I was looking at my modules and their is nothing for my main menu (which for some reason still appears on the site)
I also noticed on a JA Topaz layout position overview I printed from joomlareviews.com that the menu is in a position called ja-menu. is there a module that should be showing up in joomla for this?I’m confused, but optimistic. I am a newbie so I am grateful for your support.

June 4, 2009 at 8:50 pm #306965This is where we might be confused. how we have had it in the past is simply using swMenu Free and everything in our categories display under the section it is attached.
Is there another way we sould be doing this?

June 4, 2009 at 9:10 pm #306967If you are not using the default Ja/joomla menu I really can’t help you. I have never used swMenu.
Have you tried setting the z-index for swMenu to 999 or higher?daylin Frienddaylin

June 4, 2009 at 9:30 pm #306968is the JA/joomla menu the default menu installed with Joomla installation or JA Topaz installation?
Should it show up in modules?
does Joomlart have any links for details between Split, CSS, and Moo menus?
I’m not seeing anything that says JA/joomla anywhere. I have uninstalled swMenu now.
Again, your support is deeply appreciated.

June 5, 2009 at 1:09 am #306975The template controls the default menu installed with joomla. and does not have a module position per se. If you uninstalled swMenu are you able to see the regular menu? Have you cheked your menu manager to see if main menu is there?

June 5, 2009 at 1:44 am #306978I double checked to be sure. swMenu is uninstalled.
Main menu is in menu manager is published mode and It is displayed on website.
Topaz settings:
Menu type set to main menu
Menu module set to Moo Menu (can change to CSS or Split) I dont really know the difference.Hopefully this provide more insight. thank you.

June 5, 2009 at 3:31 am #306990The problem is that you don’t have any sub menu items assigned to a top level menu item. I have added a test menu item to the HEADQUARTERS link in main menu. please see on your site when you mouse over the HEADQUARTERS link that you have a dropdown link.
Check main menu to see what a sub menu item looks like.
You should also upgrade your version of Joomla. We’re up to 1.5.11 now.1 user says Thank You to instantinlaw for this useful post
