    ShannonN;89668no wow from what I see? really bland and boring, while I know you all will say its not a rehash of a combination of any number of previous templates, it does look that way?
    Sorry JA there are better free templates out there also

    Different strokes for different folks I guess…. what one will call ‘Bland and boring’ another will call ‘clean and simple’. With JA’s new license agreement you basically get to pick 2 templates from a selection of 60 or so. It cost $50 for 6 Months and you get to keep the templates so it’s costing $25 for each template.

    I think at €25 a shot the templates offered by JA are extremely good value plus you get 6 months support . Yes – of course some are going to be a rehashes of older templates but what do you expect for $25? A new menu system with every release? A new extension with every release?

    I’ve complained about JA release in the past too. But at the end of the day it has cost me only $70 for 3 top class professional looking templates. A bargain IMO.

    Maybe (and hopefully) when the new system of one release per month comes into play we’ll see some more original looking templates. Until then, I think we’re stuck with the rehashes.

    Those popup text boxes you mentioned above when you hover over certain text. You will enable it same way you add image captions…

    <a class=”ja-tips-title” id=”ja-tip-631″>Curabitur lacinia Nulla</a>

    The page curl/shadow and frame in Trona is done with CSS. It’s not part of the photo.

    <div class=”shadow”><img src=”/ja_trona/images/stories/demo/sam-8.jpg” alt=”Confessions of a Shopaholic”></div>

    and the css….

    .shadow img { padding: 1px;
    border: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    }

    .shadow {
    float: left;
    margin-right: 10px;
    padding-bottom: 3px;
    background: url(../images/shadow-bg.gif) no-repeat 99% 100%;
    }

    yes JA templates come with the needed extensions/modules so you can make it exactly like the demo if you wanted too.

    I agree it’s the cheapest and potentially the best template club etc etc. Just I don’t feel that Joomlart is dedicated enough to consistently turn out great stuff, it’s common for them to turn out a very advanced combo like sandinine with extras like forums etc then the next mth basically a white frontpage with nothing new? >:(

    Having been a helper and basically a mod here at one time, I know JA well, it seems they have their fingers in so many other ventureslike joomlancers et al that I wonder do they shift the design talent from project to project leaving a vacuumn for JA development and support ?

    Then when enough complaints are received pull out all stops and deliver a great feature packed template like fagus, sandinine, Teline etc?

    I sent a support request 2 weeks ago which is still unanswered, sent Hung a PM a few days ago still unanswered, why? busy with other ventures maybe?

    I just feel frustrated like many we the community have great rapport with each other and great templates but if it was run as a Dedicated business how much more could JA be

    I hope everyone realises this is an observation not a knock JA unneccesarily post 🙂
