May 29, 2011 at 5:32 pm #164584Hello,
I’m building the JA Rave template using the UserGuide (UG) after all my attempts to install the QuickStart failed. I’m now struggling with the JA Twitter Module. It does show the titel in the frontend, but it shows no tweets whatsoever. I used the exact parameters that I found in the backend settings in the UG… I even used the same Twitter screen name as in the example and tried using different usernames. So that’s not it I assume. Furthermore I checked all parameters several times to make sure I didn’t make a mistake there.
Any help greatly appreciated.

May 29, 2011 at 5:42 pm #393428It could be a number of things with the most likely being either a firewall on your server preventing incoming feeds or a missing PHP extension such as PHP-cURL.

June 1, 2011 at 8:13 am #394034You host firewall could be the problem, not the one on your desktop. That is unless you are building your site on your desktop using Wamp or Xampp?

June 1, 2011 at 11:21 am #394093That would also explain why I do see the image in the Today Highlights module, but not the text . And yes, I am building it on a host server. Is there something I can do about it or is it simply a case of hard life?

June 1, 2011 at 11:51 am #394102First thing I would do is speak to your host and see if they can check to see if it is blocked. If that is the case then you will need to discuss with them if it can be released or if there are any other options.

June 1, 2011 at 11:52 am #394103Thanks for the advise. I’ll let you know if when and what… cheers!
Update: No… they checked and they say it’s definitely not their firewall.
Any other suggestions what it could be? I re-checked all the settings which are all fine…arckoo Friendarckoo

June 1, 2011 at 6:27 pm #394179New update: after consulting with a friend who knows quite a lot about Joomla! I installed the QuickStart package in a new file… although I’ve installed and uninstalled QS three times before already, apparently I did something different this time, ’cause quess what: it works! Problem solved (although I still don’t know what it was that went wrong). Thanks for the help anyway 🙂
