April 14, 2016 at 3:40 pm #918045Hi!
I have a site with JA University that is from 2013 with joomla 3.2.7.
I would like to update the template to the version with T3 from 2015.
Is it possible?
Is just simple as installing the t3 and the template above the old one? Thanks

Hi
You can update your website and install latest T3 Framework and latest template T3 based without problems
update also all other extensions to the latest version released. After you installed new T3 based template you will need to assign old positions names to the new layout
Take always a backup of your website and follow template documentation HERE

April 15, 2016 at 2:11 pm #918347Hi!
Nothing will be lost if you can copy your template.css customized code into custom.css file available for new T3 framework.
I understand that, and that is the normal way that i do css personalizations. I have my own css file that is loaded after all the others and like this i guarantee that the original classes are overridden.
I did a complete copy of the site and installed on another server to work the tests there. But seems to me that the University T3 is a completely different template, and the classes and the structure aren’t the same as the University JAT framework. So, all the classes that i override and added aren’t the same. It’s like a completely new template.
I have upgraded joomla from 3.2.7 to 3.3.6 and then 3.4.8 and finally to 3.5.1 and everything seems to be compatible and working fine, only the button Close in the template doesn’t work, but the save works so it’s ok.
I wanted to change to the T3 version it is newer and because there is a incompatibility with Fabrik Extension (System – Fabrik plugin).
I can’t have Fabrik plugin active with the JAT framework, it’s seems to me that they share a class:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class JFormField in xxxxxxpluginssystemjat3jat3corejoomlaformfield.php on line 20I need Fabrik to create some forms in that site, but I’m postponing it til i find a solution and thought that changing framework would solve it. And it will solve, but the template as to be redesigned from the beginning. š
Thanks
