December 5, 2008 at 6:23 pm #135979The demo of the JA Vauxite is still lack of the the color options as well the functions to disable/enable the drag-drop / modules collapse functions.

I have just unpublished the color chooser option because it had been found not running smoothly on IE6.
All color options will be available in the download packages early next week.

December 5, 2008 at 11:55 pm #281501Great to hear! I was wondering about that :-).
I think this will be perfect for a personal blog site I’ve been wanting to put together for myself :-).
I love the dropdown that pops up in the news area of the main body…nice touch (can we have this backported onto Teline II :-)?
I also wanted to make a request for templates that use the dropline design, such as Teline II which I like quite a bit (I plan to use it on the redesign for the college I work for so I think about the template quite a bit). The problem I have is that dropline menus are not scalable, because compared to a dropdown menu’s considerable vertical and horizontal space, the dropline menu only has a fixed horizontal area. If you exceed the given horizontal area then links start getting placed on a second row which doesn’t look too great. It would be great if the overflow menu items could be handled in a simple way, maybe by having those additional menu items be combined within a “More…” link that when hovered over, displays the extra menu items.
Additionally, I thought it would be kind of cool to have a dropline/dropdown system where you have the first two levels handled by the dropline, but then the third and lower levels show up as dropdowns, I don’t think I’ve really seen that type of menu system anywhere.
Anyway, I hope you listen a little bit to my suggestions and I must say I’m fairly happy with Joomlart (I used to consider RT and JA at about the same level, but more recently I’ve been totally unimpressed with the RT templates which have gotten a bit too clunky for my tastes).
I’m looking forward to a JomSocial-centric template in the future too :-).

December 6, 2008 at 8:48 am #281537When choosing the green color, there is no background in the “TOP STORIES NOW” section of the homepage.

December 6, 2008 at 3:52 pm #281567Does anybody else feel that the red color is too dark?
Personally, the most useful shade of red to me is around #CC0000 because it matches our college’s shade of red. But even without that I wouldn’t like the darker red because I like colors that are a bit brighter.
The same goes for the orange color (way too dark, the color icon in the customizations panel doesn’t match the shade correctly at all).
I could argue that the blue looks a bit dark too, but to me that one doesn’t look as bad as the orange and red colors.
December 7, 2008 at 9:17 pm #281667The green color is also missing the black stripe at top of header as well.
Can’t wait for official release, my favorite template yet.

December 8, 2008 at 2:59 am #281699It looks to me as though the layout changing screens are back the front , that is the left change panel shows the right side layout and the right change panel shows the left layout. I base this on the menu position of each layout. (Long left or right column
What disturbs me is: If the demo fails to work properly and is full of bugs, such as customize layout button appearing 1/2 way down page until refreshed 🙂
What is the quickstart we can dl going to be like, assuming it’s a package of the demo?
JA may make good templates but are not professional enough in this business, if you make a template for sale do even think of putting a faulty product on display. It doesn’t happen until it’s the best example of work you can make it.
I like JA and it’s templates but I think the fan boy, slavering at the mouth approach to JA’s every offering, (that is blind acceptance of bug ridden 1st look items) offers no incentive for JA to put far more development and testing into the products before release.
I find that when the normal mods and helpers are away, or busy with their real world lives, JA suddenly loses focus, quality control etc and struggles to deliver
I don’t care what JA’s other commercial interests are: such as we know Joomlancers, IJoomla etc.
I pay for a JA template membership and really have the right to expect professionally tested and relatively bug free stuff, and if JA has to reallocate staff from it’s other ventures to JA development that is what I expect
Just time we all stopped crawling and pandering to JA and made some strong points and demanded excellence
