By logic 1.6 & 1.7 don’t have much core changing . So .. it should be fine.
You can try and if you have any trouble i’ll try to solve it.

By the way, you’re really not going to want to stick with J1.6 – it’s not even supported by Joomla any more

You’re spot on Tom. And Viet, it partially works. One big issue I’m having though is:
When I try to submit an idea and press save, the popup just stays there and nothing happens. See for yourself (I updated first post with site info)
JA Voice is located on homepage, go to “take the initiative” module, and click on the last menu item “voice”

Oh no… a programmer I hired upgraded my joomla to 1.7 without asking me. I’m supposed to be launching my site soon and I’m scared that something may go wrong now. Is there some kind of diagnostic test that can be done to see if anything isn’t working properly? Or do I just need to come across the problem when it arises?

Hey Viet, yea Ja voice works well (visually) and the tabs work. The only thing that doesn’t work is when I hit the save button. Nothing happens.

Hi
I got this issue tested in my localhost Joomla 1.6 & JA Voice for 1.7.
Actually by myself i think this’s our bugs by logic. We have mixed jQuery & Mootools in same js file . It should use one js framework only. Use jQuery is okies, but keep use it for whole stuffs . Not mixing !
I have reported this to dev team 🙂
Will update to you when have any news from them.

Thanks for your research Viet. If it makes a difference, I’m actually using Joomla 1.7 and have that issue.
