Quick question about purchasing and setting the domain…

I’d be wanting to use JA Voice for our college’s websites (imperial.edu), but I would want to be able to use the component for staff and students so in this case I would probably have two installations on two different sites (let’s say staff.imperial.edu for staff and my.imperial.edu for students)…would this be possible with a single license purchase or would two different purchases be required to use the component on two different sub domains?

Hmmmm…..

subdomain1.domain.com and subdomain2.domain.com are technically the same domain.
If Hung does it the same way as he did to the JA templates, then it should be ok… (but let’s wait for confirmation!)

JA Voice, as well as JA Job Board licences are per domain licenses so your 2 sub domains will be interpreted by our system as 2 diffrent domains.

In your case, the subdomain1.domain.com and subdomain2.domain.com are pointing to 2 instants of JA Voice then technically it must be understood as 2 independent domains.

As popular practice in software industry, we do have discount of 30% coupon for additional domain so I think it is something you can consider. Moreover, it is still be in beta and the discount is even better: 40%

Well, if we could use our Joomlart credits to purchase it, I may try one to get familiar with it. The licensing is just too restrictive for me.

Otherwise, I may try a different approach of doing the feedback.

To be honest, I am ambivalent about feedbacks. I saw so many very good You Tube videos. One recently touched me so much, I linked it in my personal page. “Remember Me” by Lizzie Palme a 17yo. The video is a personal commentary about American soldiers serving their country. I encourage you to watch it. If you are not touched by it, I don’t know.

It is these kinds of creations that is one of the motivations why I create websites. That if only we could feel how others feel, their dreams and aspirations, we may find that in spite of our differences, there are things that bind us. If we focus on those that bind us, and not our differences, we may yet create a better world.

To relate this to this application, my disappointment came when I started reading the Comments for this particular video, “Remember Me”; it became so polarized. Many forgot what the video was trying to convey. This is the case unfortunately in many internet sites today. I have yet to see one where there is truly a civil discourse. And, it is getting worse, from what I read.

If we cannot create a forum where we can “debate” ideas or differing perspectives, without gettting personal, what is the point of commentaries or forums?

I was absolutely correct.I predicted a few months ago that JA Voice is all about user feedback !

I notice that a single license is listed with 2 prices ( $ 139 and $ 299 ) ..what is the difference ?…both seem the same to me

There are actually THREE PRICES.

The cheapest is branded – 1 years support.
The second price is UNBRANDED – 1 years support.
The most expensive price is UNBRANDED – LIFETIME support.

i watch ja voice pricing in ja voice webpage and in the member page..

ja voice webpage advertise Pro edition 1 domain lifetime update – 299usd, but i dont see something like this in member page?? there is pro edit 299usd, but duration is 1 years not lifetime… probally its just typo…
