    Hi

I understand that the JA Wall functionality only works using Articles catagory blog.
I would like the ability to have the wall images link through to a specific menu page rather than a specific article. This can be achieved with weblink lists but I would like to keep the JA Wall layout.

For further explaination; imagine clicking a link on the top menu which brings you to the default page for that menu item. You would normally populate the page with selected articles with the images selected via intro image under the images and links tab. On clicking the image I would like to go to a url link (in my case a menu item) rather than opening the article and then clicking the link from there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Bill,

Do you mean that when you click image in one item in homepage and it will direct to item page instead of displaying popup then need another click on item’s title to go to item page, right?

If so, you can disable Popup preview in backend settings of home menu item: http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/600/8811713075.png

    Hope this helps you.

    Hi Saquaros

Thank you very much your response. Unfortunately, no, that was not what I meant. I’m sorry if I didn’t make myself clear.

When clicking on an image I would like the link to got to a predetermined URL as in a web-link. Not the item page.
I would like to be able to achieve this for the landing page of each of the top menu items.
For instance if you had 6 images on a wall page which corresponded to 6 menu items on the left hand side. I would like to be able to click through to the appropriate menu item on clicking the image as if it were a web-link

The effect Im am trying to achieve can be found in a module from Bow Themes http://extensions.bowthemes.com/joomla-modules/bt-content-slider-module-for-joomla.html

I’m not sure if Bow themes are associated/same company as Joomlart as they appear to be based in Vietnam and share Joomlart’s T3 framework, plug-ins etc. but if they were it might be handy.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Bill again,

You mean that when clicking on image of an item in homepage and it shall link to appropriate menu item in the top menu, right?

If so, you need to hack in code of K2 component in order to achieve this.

    Hi Saquaros

    I hadn’t ever mentioned K2. I am not using K2.

However, I guess I will have to try to hack the code or more likely abandon JA Wall as a template.

    Bit of a shame really.

    Kind regards.

    Bill
