May 22, 2012 at 7:02 am #177380Okay guys this is the final straw, other posts in threads don’t seem to be getting very far so I am starting my own new thread, to see if this will work for me or not! I have wasted far too much time so I am documenting my issues and aspirations below and given all access details to support.
JA Wall looked very interesting to me from the start as I wanted to build a portal of “whats on” in Marbella, been able to pull the latest feeds and event details from social sites would be a great start, and them maybe selling companies premium space for featured pages in the category section.
First I took the Quickstart package and it will not install on my current host, a support ticket has been submitted for this but remains unresolved with no real response to it. [#JNO-552-80621]
So someone kindly offered a trial on their hosting, quickstart installed and everything in your demo worked great, now to customising it!
This is the site at the moment http://79.170.44.98/kevinairey.com
I started on the social feeds, Instagram appears to work fine, its only pulling in from my account at the moment but when I upload a new image it seems to pull it in.
Video is the same, this is a clients YouTube account and whilst we have not added anything new appears okay.
Twitter has a mind of its own, in the backend it is told not to post retweets, yet it seems to pull those in and not the originals, we add a new tweet and it occasionally brings it in, but does seem to pull in others, just seems inconsistent.
The worst is Facebook, I have tried several groups and it refuses to pull in anything and I get the feed error message people have previously posted. If I add a page then it works, but is not bringing in all the images just some and there is no obvious reason why its only doing so. Also look at the URLs its pulling in and the formatting?
This is the FB page https://www.facebook.com/marbellascene
…and this is what I am getting http://79.170.44.98/kevinairey.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=97&Itemid=502
I have followed instructions for deleting the plugin cache, reinstalled the plugin, set up the accounts several times, delete caches, delete all the articles, everything but this seems to be the result I am stuck with, which is not what I want and nor is it good enough.
Moving forward I want to offer clients packages where they are offered listing in categories and social feed options, I can’t get it to work for 1 account whats it going to do with several? What is the maximum amount of IDs you can have in each social feed? These are not post heavy sites so it is not going to get overloaded with postings……
I am starting to ramble on here, but hopefully you can understand what I want from this and see what it is not doing, this is the last chance to try and get some official response and help before I have to ditch this template.

May 22, 2012 at 7:47 pm #454348So any reason why no answers to my support request on this?
What I really need to know at the moment is why is Facebook not bringing images in?
It has on a couple but not the rest as and as this for me is a image based project its important it does it. I also had a quick look at your demo, and whilst most of yours have brought the image in others haven’t, why is this?
Also as some of the Facebook imports have links in them please take a look at how they are formatted and they don’t render as a link?

May 24, 2012 at 4:19 am #454630Hi Kairey,
I have update the jasocial_feed plugin on your site. It can get the image on your facebook account now. We also fix the Twitter issue. Please take a look.
We have fixed some issue in next release of JAWall. If you have any other question, let me know.
Regards
