Hello,
I would like to update my Ja Zeolite II template. Tomorrow I will upgrade:
Joomla: 1.5.15 to 1.5.25
Virtuemart: 1.1.4 to 1.1.9
Joomfish: 2.0.4 to last version.I would like to know if there is an update necessary (I saw some people had problems with Virtuemart 1.1.9 and not the latest version of Ja Zeolite II).
Also is it possible that when I will be updating template the custom modules possition code will go bad ( In private I have left you name of my web site and I meant the code on top right from joomfish, which you created for me from my last account)?
PS: is there any online update for template too? I saw VM (admin->update) and Joomla have them…
Thank you!

You should be able to update both your template and extensions via your Extension Manager. If you are uncertain as to how to use your Extension Manager to update your items, here is a visual tutorial to assist . . .

December 13, 2011 at 10:44 pm #429537That is definitely a good way to go about it – yes.
Let me know how it works for you.
December 18, 2011 at 2:04 am #430139Dear TomC,
I have tried to do it with Extension manager, but I couldn’t because it says: Sorry, no version uploaded in Repository (file in attachment).
I have seen a video before posting this comment, but there it is shown as very simple click on update button. I have also seen this link: http://www.joomlart.com/updates/joomla-templates/ja-larix-ja-zeolite-and-zeolite-ii-updated-for-virtuemart-119-for-joomla-15
at the end of this link it is:
Upgrade steps.
RECOMMENDED : Use JA extension Manager Component for upgrade. Watch video for how to upgrade using JAEM. Make sure to upgrade to Joomla 1.7 version.– It says make sure to upgrade to Joomla 1.7 – I don’t know if this has anything to do with mine update, but as far as i know, this template (ja zeolite ii) is available for joomla 1.5 only. Also VM is 1.1.9 and it doesn’t support joomla 1.7.
I’m sorry for so much questions, but is there any solution to this Extension manager problem?
Thank you!

Within the tutorial video for the Extension Manager, there is a part that shows you how to update your membership/password information within the Extension Manager so that it knows you are a current/valid member eligible for product updates. Did you perform this step as part of the process?

January 5, 2012 at 1:27 am #432577Hello TomC,
today I’ve tried to update the template, but something didn’t go well.
So here is what i did:1. Via Ja Joomlart extension manager I clicked on: check update and updated verison from 1.0.0. to 1.1.4.
2. after that I went to my live site and checked if everything is fine, but I noticed that a lot has changed. Anyway I told myself that its no problem I will just do the same thing like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaiCRUF2pQI&fmt=22but the problem was (if you see the video at 4:09), that in Conflict group i didn’t have Yes button but only No. So I could’t see the changes…
3. After that I rolled back update of template to my old verison 1.0.0., but it didn’t rolled back the logo beside the http://www.blablabla…com site. I guess I have to do this manually.
Do you have maybe any solutions to that? Maybe I should update step by step and not 1.0.0. directly to the newest verison?
Does it have any other connections with any other modules is that why it doesnt work ok?I have done a lot of changes to this template so its not easy for me to just forget about them.
Please let me know if you have any solution.
On private I will post you a screenshot before and after for the site…
Thank you, best regards

Ok I’ve seen now what was the problem with favicon – just a cache problem. But I still cannot manage the problem in Conflict group.
Best regards

January 16, 2012 at 1:01 am #433951conflicted files are those that have changes both by you and by the dev team.
which means you need to go through them using the diff part of JAE and copy from the update to your original.
then save and its “merged”.
often its necessary to go line by line. This is why its always best to use overrides aka custom themes when making modifications to the template.watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNAuJRmifG8&feature=player_embedded very carefully to understand how to merge using jaem There are other videos on the JA channel that might be helpful also.

Thank you for your explanations, I have noticed that I don’t have T3 framework installed on my site. Is this critical? Please let me know. Here is the picture of backend:
Must I first install T3 and than create custom template? I can also go as you said line by line and update all the necesarry files (but I think its much easyer with JA EXTENSION manager.
Please reply as soon as possible thank you all!

April 1, 2012 at 7:46 pm #446734zeolite II does require T3, I believe T3 v1 is built in and requires no plugin.
Hopefully one of the other mods can answer this for you as its long before my time.
http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/templates/ja-zeolite-ii is the template infoApril 4, 2012 at 1:34 pm #447295Hi n6rej, thanks for your reply, yes I would be very glad if it is possible for any other moderator to answer this question.
