Hello,
Im having a problem when i turn on Search Engine Friendly URLs from the global configuration.
My main page displays correctly, but any other page on my site doesn’t include any of the styles. Occasionally I will get a 404 message as well.More info:
When i got to my site… ex: mysite.com it displays correctly.
When SEF is turned on and I go to a different page the URL is mysite.com/index.php/community.
Anyone have any ideas?
Im having a similar problem with the Vauxite as well.

January 9, 2009 at 5:22 pm #285678Works much better than the joomla standard sef
January 9, 2009 at 5:56 pm #285682i actually have that installed, but it doesn’t seem to work either…
I still have to have SEF turned on under global configuration right?
If i turn on SEF in global configuration and turn the plugin on for sh404sef, i get the 404 message.
If I turn on SEF in global configuration and turn the plugin on for builtin SEF, i get no styles…
Any other ideas?

Disable the build in SEF under global configurations.
Go to in 404sef click “sh404SEF Configuration” go to the advanced tab set the “Rewriting mode” to without .htaccess (index.php). Now turn on 404sef and see what happends now.

January 14, 2009 at 6:03 pm #286448Chances are you’ve not put your .htaccess file on your root installation folder.
Make sure you have.

Why does it display index.php/? The url rewrite should remove that?

Doesnt have to be, depends how you set 404sef.
Im kinda running out of options, i dont mind having a look at it but then you need to pm some login info. Keep in mind that im not JA staff. If you rather have a staffmember look at it you should use the premium support under your member area.

May 30, 2009 at 4:07 pm #306248I had the same issue. Try this.
Enable sh404sef, but do not enable search engine rewrite under the joomla admin global configuration.
Then, set sh404sef as follows:
s4404sef configuration –> advanced tab –> rewriting mode = without .httaccess (index.php?).I needed to set to use without and the “index.php?” option. This was the only setting that worked for me.
