Quick Install 2.5
Never saw a weird Template like this one – Configuration out of basic guide is mostly extremly frustrating.
For example changing picture map location only by finding css position for data. No tutorial, no details just codíng…I was looking now with trial and errors for 2 Hours to find Main Content Position in the event page. Can´t find it.
Many mistakes are showing up with this template, just a bunch of features are not useful for user to manage the Backend Configuration…Does it really make sense to make a template which is so confusing for configure the frontend with template changes, weird module settings and hardcoding to get it run?
Event Menu Page
Masshead
Our Speakers
Main Content
Sponsors
Where to change Main Content on Event Page to another page?
Yes I did changes in Template area for home, default and EVENT template… tried development mode, manual cleaning cache, different unlogic configuration back and forth. DOES not WORK out…

February 5, 2014 at 10:48 am #521307Hope my below explanation will make it clear about Event page:
First of all, due to concept of the template, the Event page will have layout like that with modules above and main content.
<blockquote>Where to change Main Content on Event Page to another page?</blockquote>This Event menu item page has K2 categories type but it looks a bit different from default K2 categories page because we override its layout. You can see in the backend settings of this menu item that we assign overridden layout of JA Zite template for this menu item: http://prntscr.com/2pqlvk. In case you want to see how we override in code, pls have a look at this folder: templates/ja_zite/html/com_k2/ja_zite/category_item.php and category.php files
Also, this page uses some other modules as you listed above: JA Masshead module, ‘Our speakers’ and ‘Sponsors’ are custom HTML modules in user1, user3 position respectively and you can see how they’re configured in Module manager section. If there is any module settings that is not clear for you, please let me know in details so that I can help.
It’s also recommended that after making change in your site, remember to clear JAT3 cache. In case, your site is in development stage, you can set Development Mode to Yes, then your changes will appear immediately without clearing cache.
February 5, 2014 at 6:55 pm #521373Thanks so far for your patience
I still do not understand, how to make it happen:
No content items on Event Page but on Homepage? Or somewhere else, in addition.
I did configuarations as has been told somewhere in the template and assign structure there – no effect at all, so it is confusing that template changes do not have any effect as it is a basic funciton.
Modul Position are clear to me, but really, this template concept is somehow over the top – difficult and not userfriendly…
Thanks

The main content on homepage of JA Zite Template is hidden from template configuration. You can enable this by setting it to NO as per screenshort:
It’s hard to detect the issue on your site as I’m not quite sure what modifications you have made. Anyway, please consider to reinstall quickstart on your site with sample data again:
And have a look at JA Zite template userguide for reference here
Let me know if this helps.
