    Hi all,

Here my latest website for a renault dealer based on JA Helio

    http://www.renaultkleine.nl

    Used components:
    eXtplorer
eXtplorer is a web-based File Management Component for all your needs. It has a desktop-application-like interface with drag&drop, grid and a directory tree and makes heavy use of the ExtJS Javascript Library.
You can use it to access and modify the files and directories on your server via FTP or direct file access.

    JoomlaPack
JoomlaPack is an open-source backup component for the Joomla! CMS, quite a bit different than its competition. Its mission is simple: create a site backup that can be restored on any Joomla!-capable server. It creates a full backup of your site in a single ZIP archive. The archive contains all the files, a database snapshot and an installer derived from the standard Joomla! installer. The backup and restore process is AJAX powered to avoid server timeouts, even with huge sites. Alternatively, you can make a backup of only your database. If you want a reliable, easy to use, open source backup solution for your Joomla! site, try it out.

    sh404sef
sh404SEF rewrites Joomla URL to a more user-friendly format (SEF URL or URL rewriting): mysite.com/index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=69&id=34… becomes mysite.com/en/sh404SEF-and-url-rewriting/list-of-available-plugins.html). It is also a security component and manages title and meta tags : automatic tags, or manual for every page. It works with or without .htaccess file. Fully Joomfish compatible. Caching system for high speed and very small DB queries overhead. Support many components natively but uses also sef_ext from OpenSEF/SEF Advanced. VirtueMart, Fireboard, Community Builder, mosetsTree, HotProperty, Sobi2, Docman, myBlog, iJoomla Magazine,News Portal, Remository and more supported natively.

    Xmap
Xmap is a component based on the popular Joomap component. Xmap allows you to create a map of your site using the structure of your menus

    Modules:
    J!Analytics
J!Analytics is a new Joomla 1.5 only module which inserts Google Analytics code into your web site pages.
Google Analytics allows you to track visitors to your web site and much more. For more information on Google Analytics and to get your Analytics ID visit http://www.google.com/analytics.
J!Analytics uses the latest ga.js script from Google as default and also allows you to use the legacy urchin.js script as well.

    S5MapIt
Ever needed a simple way to give someone directions to your store or maybe you are designing a website and want a quick directions link built in? Well now it’s very easy! We have created a simple module that will allow a user to enter their address and have it automatically map it in Google Maps to an address you specify in the administration side of the module

    Plugins:
    jSecure Authentication
Drawback: Joomla has one drawback, any web user can easily know the site is created in Joomla! by typing the URL to access the administration area (i.e. http://www.site name.com/administration). This makes hackers hack the site easily once they crack id and password for Joomla!. Information: jSecure Authentication module prevents access to administration (back end) login page without appropriate access key.

    Comments and suggestions are welcome!

When hovering the accordion on the right, I do not know if the first tab has some “read more” or not but when it seems to be below the next tab already. I just mention as the “read more” link in the second tab is very close to the last tab and only in the last tab the margin between the next module and the link is wide enough to have it aligned the right way. I know the problem with those accordions as all tabs must have the same height as the other one so when one’s content is slighty higher than the one you used for defining the height in the admin, all the rest goes under the accordion and is not shown. I would define the height for the tabs by the longest one with the most content to always have enough proper space between the read more link and the next tab, as currently the link is whether very very close to the next tab or even right below the next one like probably with the first tab. I would always have at least two rows or 20px space between last line or link and the next tab.;)

Thx, here it showed correctly tho (in FF and IE) could see the link on all of them correctly. But i just made them a little bit bigger. Does this show better?

Now it is good but not perfect. As to the problem, it is solved, enough space between any tab.

BUT, as I am very, how it is called, in german it is “penibel”… when I slide above the last 2 tabs I see a grey line at the bottom of each slide, and that comes really godd, below the read more link. In the first tab I do not see this gray line. I do not know if this is some over-astethic aspect but I think when also in the first tab there would be a line like content dividing / closing the tab, this would look even cleaner then…;)

    Hi Bennitos

Really nice site, job well done!

If I had to get really picky … the ‘cyan’ colour in the highlight of the menu does you no favours, this is the absolute worst colour to complement the default ‘gold’ colour.

In the days when I was working as a Colour Specialist for Agfa this would have been named a “tertiary color” (RGB v CMYK, etc.), this basically means that one of the colours in killing the other (IMO of course!).

Oh, and the photo of the garage could do with a wee bit more contrast 🙂

Whatever, congratulations on the site, really nicely put together.

    Cheers
    Chris

thx, but im afraid i cant do very much about it. The client updates the contents and cars.
When i first set it up it was perfect, but as usuall the clients theirself are hardly ever as precise as yourself (even tho they did have training), but i think visitors of the site will look at the top cars themself dont think they would notice that 1 is maybe a bit different from the other.

    Hi Bennitos,

Good work and nice site. I too had second thoughts about the cyan on the drop down menus. but apart from that it is really nice. I’m sure the client is happy with it too, right?

And cheers, too. Those glasses look tempting!

I know, whether people who later use the site later make it bit different that it originally was planned, but sometimes, what I like even more, they turn out to be specialists from the ground up without training and make the site even much better, as they put in their own spices…;)

Now it comes, people start to reveal their lifes’ past jobs and qualitications, maybe we also got here some former guys from GoDaddy.com who can give some tips how to use this host for a Joomla site even better than with other hosts….. 😉 But good to know indeed….

I totally agree, first time i gave them a first impression of the site i had to colours still cyan in the menu wich i wanted to change later, but they where like dont bother 🙁

Told them about the comments and now the agreed lol.

How does this look? Made it light gray and the active menu gold. I believe that fits better and it also false into the colour scheme of renault like this.

Excellent. Yet another benefit of an active forum 🙂

Much better, however, personally, I would have made the grey in the highlight of the menu a wee bit darker to match all the site headlines:

Which would also make the white text stand out a bit more?

Can’t nitpick anymore, it’s far better than the cyan!

Have you considered to use a picture file background taken from a source that complies to a 100% to this particular and any other colors. You know, it is a simple css thing to set a picture file es background for dropdown and menu too.

Done, a tad darker does indeed look better.

Reaction from client was also good, i must say normally i wouldnt be bothered after they said never mind leave it, but i know these people personally wich makes up for the extra effort 🙂

it is 100% the same now, if possible with css then myself i would always pick that over doing it with pictures. Want to limit pictures as it makes the site bigger and slower.

I really appriciate all the comments and input so far, its easy to overlook things, so thanks alot everyone!

I’m struggling to find faults bennitos. Very well done!

If I was really picky, I’d suggest rounding the corners of the slideshow images the same as the module title boxes or maybe a light grey border or something just to break the strong contrast.

Colours are good and menu looks great.

    Nice Job!
