September 11, 2008 at 1:09 am #133216Hi,
Hope someone can help please ;-).I’m using
joomla 1.5.6
vm 1.2
ja_mesolitethe site is
Problem.
When you click on any product category eg.
http://www.cradun.com.au/shop?page=shop.browse&category_id=19
The product category repeats itself using the same item, usually the first one, throughout the whole catalog.
I have tested this on a local server running wamp, with no problems.
I zipped the cradun directory and ftp the files to the online server for deployment. So the files are the same.
Do know why?
Any ideas?
Much appreciated.
cheers

September 21, 2008 at 9:10 pm #271601Hi,
I have the same problem too (redundant item on product category view, repeating the first item in the list):
I’m using:
joomla 1.0.15
VM v 1.1.2It seems this problem only occur when I use “ja-mesolite” theme for virtuemart. If I were to change this to default VM theme. It would be ok but then the shopping cart would not be ok (added item will appear in detail listing not summarized items). So both choice would not help.
thank you.

September 23, 2008 at 5:02 pm #271929well i make a quick review of your site and it seems that you make a duplicate because you have two items with the same info but diferents product id, in this case product id=220 & product id=219, so if you make a batch insert maybe you mess up in the process. the products mentioned are GL15-01 and GL15-02, so i recomend you enter to your backend and check and upload the right image for any one of this products and problem solved.
it is not and template bug,(i think) so if you have the same problem later of making the fix of images let us know
September 23, 2008 at 11:01 pm #271976Hi guys,
Most of the time you have to RTFM, even for me :-[
After reading it all and upgrade from joomla 1.5.6 to 1.5.7 I got the same problem as you lot.
I couldn’t find the problem until I just uploaded a single file without changing anything in the file and received a parse error: unexpected t-string.By just removing and placing ‘}‘ back and uploading the file again worked fine, but then there was another error in an another file. By uploading the complete upgrade again it worked al fine for me and there are NO repeating product categories.
So I hope it wil work for you to.

September 23, 2008 at 11:16 pm #271979well there are some issues with joomla 1.5.7 but that is comprensible because is very new, even with the new virtuemart.
loooking to your problem i will think that a good practice will be make a backup of your DB then remove all your joomla instalation and upload the Quickstart kit and made the install of this then make ths sql command of your backup and it will be okay.
but another solution it will be that you see if you make any hack to any file in joomla/virtuemart/or ja template try to delete that file and upload again the original file that comes with the quickstart ones.
i hope this helps you

September 25, 2008 at 12:12 am #272161i think that is better practice to wait until the joomla 1.5.7 is more stable to make de upgrade
i initially make a install of the virtuemart and joomla ecomerce package 1.5.7 and give me some problems that i resilve installing the quickstar from scratch
September 25, 2008 at 6:20 am #272194I guess you guys are correct.
I ended up with another new installation from the package using Jv1.5.6 VM1.1.2
and now I will spare that joomla update later. I don’t want to endup repeating the same process again.
I guess this is remained unsolved yet.

Eddie</blockquote>Eddie i see that still you have the problem in your site so i will make to recomendations, first one try to delete the flyapge and reupload it if the problem persist select another flypage if still persist, then you must have to make a fresh install anotate the changes you do step by step and make them untill you found what you make wrong
