    Hi All,

This must be something simple, but I have searched the forums without finding any reference to it.

If I include an image in a ja_newsflash item, the image margin renders fine on page refresh but then on scroll (or fade) it collapses. Am I the only one with this problem?

Can you provide a live URL of the page this issue is appearing?
    Thanks,
    John.

    Thanks for your reply jbrett.

Because of the problem I have not included an image in the newsflash articles.

Tomorrow morning (GMT) I will divert another article to newsflash display for about 12 hours as a demo of the problem. I hope you can catch it.

‘Tis done! Just in case you wake early. 🙂 Look for ‘Next Council Meeting’.

    Okay…try this.

In the image properties for that picture, under the Appearance tab set the following:

    ALIGNMENT: Left
    IMAGE CLASS: Caption

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not the answer.

The problem only occurs when the article is published to ja_newsflash. 😉

Well my problem in diagnosing it is that it rolls before I can get a good look at the code.
If you could disable all of the other items, so that I can see it without it scrolling, we could probably work out a fix.

    Let me know.
    John.

    Thanks John,

I am away from the desk tomorrow pm, but I will publish a solitary item with image to the ja_newsflash module during the morning here and then revert to normal before I leave.

I hope that this gives you the opportunity to check the code. Thanks for your interest in my problem.

    Hi John,

I presume that you missed it. Also, even though I published a solitary article to the ja_newsflash module, it still scrolls.

The same article (Next Council Meeting) displays fine in the random notice feature in the top right of the front page. (You may need to refresh the page a time or two before that particular note appears.)

    Ideas, anyone?

    Yes…I missed it.
How about doing this. Make a copy of the Newsflash module and have it appear on another page with content pulled from a temporary new section/category. And then make a copy of that item in question to that temporary section and category.

That way we can work on this issue without having to mess up the front page.

    Doable?
    John.

    Hi jbrett et al,

Please accept my apologies for allowing this to flounder – I have just become overwhelmed by trying to do too many things and run out of time in the day.

The reality is that this particular module is only partly developed and badly implemented with a dearth of parameters and also is buggy. I have simply abandoned it. My increasing experience with Teline II is that there are so many bugs that one just has to steer round them and make the best of a bad job. A great pity, because the Teline concept is great and the news portal idea has so much potential. I see from other posts that I am not alone in this view and Joomlart are not addressing the issues raised.

Teline II is badly in need of Teline III or better still, the ja_news component has to be made robust so that we can apply the concept to other templates.

Thanks again for your willingness to try to help, but I am now convinced that it is a lost cause.

    Regards,
    Codger
