I’ve completely reduced the size of the backround files but that make no difference. Is this the correct path to the files to be modified /templates/ja_purity/images/c-bg1.gif ?</blockquote>
The files you need to modify are in two places. The first are as described earlier, the second is in: ja_purity/styles/background/lighter/images and are named the same as the first ones: c-bg1 and c-bg2.
The files are NOT the same though, so don’t just upload the first ones that you edited into the second folder, you have to change these ones seperately in much the same way.

I’m new to Joomla. with the help of above posts, I was able to reduce the width of my left side bar in ja_purity template.I also want to remove/move the gray line that separates the main menu and ja-contentwrap of ja-mainbody. My site “koyalindia.com”.
I see that you don’t have the grey line in your site pcpotato.com. How did you do that?swillett Friendswillett

As stated in the quote above I too am trying to move the grey line towards the right more, I have managed to adjust the main body width and the ja_col1 width without any problems but for the life of me I can not establish which div is holding the width of the area showing the right grey border under the “left” column?

hungnd, Thank you for your offer but I managed to resolve the issue at around 1:30am this morning in my very tired state and was not able to reply on the forum due falling asleep.
I was adjusting teh correct CSS styles just it was an image in the background that appeared to be a border / div width issue.
