Hello,
1. I am confused about the intended use of the frontpage slideshow at ja_rave. What purpose has that feature when implemented (in demo version) without clickable links (leading to an artikel).
2. When I activate “read more” for the slideshow at backend the “read more text” is shown above the main text (instead of behind as usual). And I didn´t see how to link that “read more” suffix.

January 30, 2012 at 3:13 pm #436182Hi Rüdiger
I’m not a Rave user but have looked into Slideshow quite a lot. Not sure if you are running 1.5 or 1.7 and as I don’t know this template I don’t know if some of the functions of SS may not be included but there is a tutorial for it here..
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/userguide-ja-rave-template-for-joomla-1-5/
It shows how to set up the links and the read more..
It should solve both your questions.

January 30, 2012 at 5:31 pm #436204Thank you and Grüezi in die Schweiz,
sorry I didn´t mention that my question was about the 1.7 template.
I read the tutorial already but – maybe I stand beside me – I dont see the purpose of the slideshow yet. Because I installed from quickstart I got the demo look and are able to scroll through the 4 images. But to what story or article should the images belong and isn´t it possible to implement a link within the slideshow or at the description below the images?
Within a template for an artist there may be a reason to just show some examples of pictures. But with a news oriented template like ja_rave I expected to have links iplemented in the slideshow at the default layout. Or do I think completely out of the box:confused:

Most slideshows are there to attract readers and get their attention I think! 😉
Images come from an image folder. If you want to use images linked with an article then a better product would be something like ja_sidenews or newspro
With Slideshow you have bigger pictures and as I say the pictures come from an image folder
To link to an article for example with the more text……..

Say hello to JA Rave

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters.

………… HERE is where you can add your link with the The pictures can also link to anywhere you want Ruediger. That can be a story, an article, a picture gallery or an external link if you want it to.
The url can be an internal or external link or
target =”_blank”hilft das?

Thats what I guessed too. But normaly even the “get attentian images” are linked in any way. Thats why I was wondering.
To link to an article for example with the more text……..

Just thought such tags are already implemented in the default version or could be easily enabled or disabled at backend.
Hope I can manage the task now.
Thank You. -
