There is a bug in the code of this file:
modules/mod_jaslideshow/helpers/helper.php, line 630:

$item->link = JRoute::_(‘index.php?option=com_user&view=login’);
com_user should be: com_users

This will cause 404 – component not found error for protected articles.

Also you can improve the code here to let it redirect to the article that you click from after you login.
