I want to slow down the slideshow, and I’ve seen posts on how to change the mod_jaslideshowlite.php file, altering the delay from 5000 to whatever you want. If I edit the file, the slideshow does slow down. But, I don’t want my changes to be wiped out each time I update the module. So, I need an override.

Unfortunately, I am having troubles getting an override to work. I copied the ja_slideshowlite folder to /templates/ja_brisk/html and edited the delay from 5000 to 10000. But, the override isn’t happening. The website is still pulling info from the original file.

Any help would be fantastic.

Yes, both videos make sense, and I’m sure I’ve followed the same steps. But, the override still doesn’t work. I’m baffled

@earthson: I saw 2 problems when I went to back-end of your site.

Error
Your host needs to disable magic_quotes_gpc to run this version of Joomla!

>> You need to contact your hosting provider for help to disable magic_quotes_gpc via php.ini file

and

403 Forbidden: media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.map

>> Pls send me a PM with FTP account of your site and super admin login info. I will help you to check the 403 Forbidden problem

Hey Ninja Lead,

The first error was just a snafu on my part. I had created the php.ini file to turn Magic Quotes off. Then I restored my parent website, and it wiped out those changes. Hence, the error popped back up.

I have used debug tools from browser(inspect element), you should see this bug in Admin site 403 Forbidden: media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.map

About change interval time: 5000 on JA Slideshow Lite module you must change it from here

Open modules/mod_jaslideshowlite/mod_jaslideshowlite.php file

Line 129 and make changes interval: 5000 and you will not be able to customize it from other places.

Hey Ninja lead. I’ve PM’d you. I am aware of how to change modules/mod_jaslideshowlite/mod_jaslideshowlite.php file

The problem is that I cannot seem to complete an override, because any changes I make to modules/mod_jaslideshowlite/mod_jaslideshowlite.php will just be wiped out when I update the template.

If you can sort out the other problem, that would beawesome! 403 Forbidden: media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.map

I have checked on your site and i see that modules/mod_jaslideshowlite/mod_jaslideshowlite.php file has setting interval time: 12000 and about upgrade template could not override to your change on your site.

I found the solution in stackoverflow here. The problem does not affect back-end of your site.
