i need some help the ja social dosent work for me the way it is and the ja_taline_iv has the module positions and modules i need to pull off my site i need to know how to merg the two together to get the function i need can someone help me with this? I may have some one that can do this for me but i dont trust that he wont sell your designs once i give them to him to incorperate them together.i dont see it being a big thing to do i just cant figure where all the things are that i need to change. i can have added the stuff to the templateDetails.xml and moved the folders from taline over to the template but cant figure the rest.

Also can you help with merging the 2 sql files so i dont have to manuly setup the structer?

Greetings:

Which modules are you looking to interchange between JA Social and JA Teline IV? As you know, these are two very differently styled templates – though creating new positions in ANY Joomla based template is not a terribly difficult process … though it does/will involve adding additional code to several files.

Can you, perhaps, put together a graphical depiction (sample screenshot) for what you are wanting to accomplish?

yes ty i would like to have ja_social look and feel except that i want the blue that is top and bottem to stay to specified with.

i want all the plugins and module places in ja_taline_iv so realy only need to make sure that content-mass-top would be added to taline.

i want the look and feel of taline not the ja social boxes.

realy i need a newssite that i can incorperate social aspects into clean and sharp.

i like the social time with the taline news headlines up top.

and the layout would then also be modifyed to reflect the above changes

i can take care of the placement of the modules and all as long as it has the useability of taline with the looks of social menu and header i tryed to do this my self and i kept breaking everything. i can install js social again and edit the layout and give you a module layout look of it.

also important to have the social and taline sql merged to give me the basic setup to start working with as im just still learning joomla

You can have both templates installed within the same site structure, but you can only have one designated as your “default” site.

yes i know i only want 1 template id like it to be a merger of ja_social and ja_taline_iv as i was saying poorly i guess i want the ja social template but want the taline module positions and the taline modules added to the social.

the only diffrence is id like the module box’s to be like taline not the cartoon look of ja_social

the only other idea would be to have the taline altered to have the ja_social pull down menu and to work with the above top listed aps as well as the ja_social plugins and modules

For what you are describing you want to do, that would seem like the better way to go about it.

I think you are better off getting a freelancer to do the work. While we can give advice and pointers what you seems to be trying is a large customization and that really is beyond what we can do here.

ok i have a guy that is very interested in doing this project but he wants a copy of all your templates that are being used for this and all the plugins and extenshions and all my other bought extenshions i cant vouch what he will do with them after he has helped me so in effect he is getting all the stuff i purchased free as long as your ok with this i am too

Unfortunately, our technical support services are dedicated for bug fixing, products maintainence or general advice on how to use the products only. All custom works that requires to extend products’ core features as shown on our demo site are not subject to support coverage and should be handled by clients.

Unless this person is a JA Member, we cannot directly provide him with our Club Templates and/or Extensions.

If you are to contract with him, you can certainly work with him and allow him access to your templates/extensions you acquired via your JATC Membership benefits. However, you may want to advise him that should he get an idea to keep the templates/extensions for himself and use them (unlicensed), he should be advised that our Copyright Infringement Detection robot conducts research on Google every day … and any domain or unlicensed person who uses JA Club Templates without proper legal license will be contacted and automatically reported to JoomlArt’s Legal Department for further action.

thats all fine and good but just want to know if ill be held liable if this guy steals your stuff and pirate list it if i can get into truble for suplying him with the material as i dont realy know him he could steal your stuff and use it without paying for it and give it out freely. and then you loose money. you see what im saying? so i just need a simple yes or no. i feel your evading the question and that makes me nervous!

i asure you by the time im done with this project that he will posess at least 2 templates and all the extenshions you make for free.

if your ok with that than say your ok with that in plain english.
