Hi – I am using K2 I have a category such as MLB and subcategories under as red sox, Yankees, tb rays, angels, etc. when I use contentslider2 to display images and articles it won’t select the first most recent articles amongst all categories and instead selects the first 3 categories… Any suggestions? Sorry typing from iPhone

Yes – but i have 50 or so different categories.
I want the slider to show 3 of the “most recent” articles within the those 50 articles. Unfortunately, no matter how i edit the parameters i always get the first 3 categories articles.

Is there anyway for it to check for the the 3 most recent amongst all the categories? Sorry – it sounds confusing.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi robnob,

It will display only 1 article from 3 categories because in backend settings of this module, you only set maximum of articles for each category is 1

So if you create 2 new articles in 1 category, it only takes 1 article from this category. Please change this value.

Hi Saguaros – Thank you for taking a look.

    My only settings are –
    Number Articles Display:
    Max Artciles For Each Category:

I would like to display 1 article (the most recent by create date) from 144 categories
How would you do these settings?

I’ve highlighted all the categories but not sure on the parameters… # of articles: 144? max articles for each category: 1?

    Thanks

    Hi robnob,

Number Articles Display means number of article will appear in the slider. If you want to show only 1 article, you should value for this parameter to 1. Then now the value of parameter Max articles for each category is not important now, you can choose a value which equal or greater than 1 because you only take 1 article displayed.

    Regards.

Hi Saguaros – If below is true – it still does not resolve my issue.
    For example:
I have 30 categories for all NBA Basketball teams (Alphabetical)
I want to display the 3 most recent articles from all 30 categories.

I cannot figure out how to do this… it will only display the first 3 articles from the first 3 categories alphabetical (so… atlanta hawks, boston celtics, charlotte bobcats) I know there are more recent articles in other teams. Any ideas?

    Hi robnob,

I think there is no option for this. you can only display 3 most recent articles from these 3 categories if you choose to display only 3 categories. In case that you choose all 30 categories, you can choose to sort by:

    Date: created date of articles
Ordering: order of article in category
    Hit: hit count of article

This module will display articles depending on above references NOT the order of categories.

    Hope you got the idea.

I’ve selected all 30 categories (all teams) from the Source (K2)
    I set my parameters
    Number Articles Display = 3
Max Artciles For Each Category = 1

But – the module displays the articles depending on the categories and not the ordering criteria (which is opposite from what you stated above)

I need it to show me of the 30 categories selected which 3 articles were submitted most recent.

    Hi robnob,

Please have a look at my previous reply in the 1st page, when you set: Max Artciles For Each Category = 1

Suppose that you have 2 categories A and B, and 2 new articles in category A, if you set Max Artciles For Each Category = 1, it will display only 1 new articles from category A, please try to set to 3 and ordering by date.
