JoomlArt Extensions Uploader On file upload to the Local Repository (because the component to update is not listed on JoomlArt) I receive the following warning and error messages:
Warning Warning: File JOOMLA_PATH/tmp/com_XYZ_J3.6.2_v3.6.2.1.zip not uploaded for security reasons!
Error Archive does not exist Unable to find installation package
[ Edit: All folders and files are belonging to the Webserver User ]
I tried a manual upload to the desitination directory (both: old and new zip file)
JOOMLA_PATH/jaextmanager_data/j30/component/com_XYZ/versions
but then it does claim
No new version found in Repository (JOOMLA_PATH/jaextmanager_data/j30/component/com_XYZ/versions)
Any idea?

September 21, 2016 at 1:42 pm #969847Hi Silke,
Our JAEM component is free extension provided by us to help our customers update JA Products only with easy, not for 3rd party extensions.
September 21, 2016 at 9:36 pm #969990Hi Saguaros,
That seems strange to me. In this case you should ask yourself, why
- you offer a configuration option "Hide None-JA Extensions" and show these Non-JA Extensions by default?
- https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/wiki-ja-extension-manager/admin-panel suggests to "change the update service for your third party extension"
- https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/wiki-ja-extension-manager/developer-guide "would like to document the development of external repositories to work with JA Extensions Manager"
At least a diff should be possible, right?
Best regards, Sailor

September 22, 2016 at 1:37 am #970009You’re right but the 3rd party need to be willing to provide update services via our JAEM
September 22, 2016 at 11:39 am #970193That is self-explanatory. But I still cannot distinguish supported and unsupported components. – How to achieve this?
1) JAEM suggests a path for each and every component (supported ones as well as non-JA) – how should I know that the component is not supported?
2) Is the local repository supported at all if it does not even support an upload in the documented way? – I can live with a clear "No", which saves me from unnecessary efforts to make it work.
Best regards, Sailor

September 26, 2016 at 3:58 am #970875Hi Sailor,
Let me explain this a little bit:
-
There are 2 ways to update extensions (component/module/plugin) / templates: default Joomla update service and use our JAEM component.
-
JAEM is provided free for JoomlArt users in order to update JA products, IF you want to update other 3rd party extensions via JAEM, please contact its provider / developer if they can be willing to support jaem update services.
- Otherwise, you will need to use default Joomla update services to update these 3rd party extensions.
I hope this makes senses.
