    Hello,
on my joomla Installation the database is on a separate host.
How do I have to set the Mysql Paths in JAEM to get it running.
    Kind regards, Dieter

    Hi Dieter,

You can leave all the fields in MySQL path blank, then just click ‘Save’ button, it will automatically fill the path, it doesn’t work on your site?

No. I blanked the fields and saved. After that I tried to upgrade one component and get this message:
Errors occured during upgrading, please fix them fist
    MySQL path is not configed
MySQL Dump path is not configed

    A look in configuration shows:
    Mysql path: mysql
    Mysql dump path: mysqldump
    Mysql dump path: mysqldump

Which JA Extension you wish to update via JAEM? At this moment, you can try to upgrade it manually first.

    no JA Extension!
I uploaded manually an update for com_phocagallery (v4.3.4).
On my local xampp installation it worked without a problem (with local mysql).

With JAEM, you can update for JA extensions only.

For third party extension, pls check out this documentation if they’re willing to provide update services via JA Extensions Manager: https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/wiki-ja-extension-manager/developer-guide

To my knowledge it makes no difference if it is a JA Extension or not if I do the upload manually and press Update. Am I wrong?

When you upload and install via default installation of Joomla (Extensions > Install), it will override the existing version on your site.

That’s true, but with JAEM the fallback szenario in case of an error is much easier and that’s the main reason for me to use JAEM!

Yes, but again it’s applied to JA Product only.

You can try to take backup of your site then you can restore later (just in case).
