    Hi,

When I try to update elements with JA Extension manager, the process starts but goes into an endless loop (see screenshot). It used to work and I’ve never experienced any problems previously, so folder permissions should be OK. Any ideas?

    Hi Deane
I see that there is an issue about chmod command: Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in components/com_jaextmanager/lib/config_joomla.php on line 59

You should try config ftp account in global config as a solution for solve the issue

    Hi HeR0,

Sorry, I’m still a newbie. I’ve never had a problem with FTP and never activated it. What exactly would be the settings?

    Thanks

    Hi Deane,
JAEM needs FTP permission to work, you should add FTP account to the global config.

    Hi HeR0,
I have now configured the site for FTP in the global config. Unfortunately, JAEM gives the following error:

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /mnt/sites/…/web/administrator/components/com_jaextmanager/lib/config_joomla.php on line 59
Error occur when downloading upgrade package!
    Upgrade failure

    Any ideas?

    Hi Deane
Please open file web/administrator/components/com_jaextmanager/lib/config_joomla.php and add @ before chmod as ‘@ chmod’ line 59

    Regards,
