Good for you wicksie,
There may be others who might be asking the same question as you do, so perhaps you can help them by sharing how you answered your question.
It is good to share your findings, you know. At least, that is the right thing to do. And, that is what some of us try to do, after we have been taught by others here — helping each other.
Cornelio
N.B. By the way, it is not for me, I and a number of members answered the same question several times here in the Forum already.

April 18, 2009 at 5:51 am #301760Hi Cornelio, I did search the forums first, of course that is the right thing to do but could not see the answer, the reason for that is that I was looking in the wrong place in my install. To filter and sort correctly of course I needed the ID number from the Sections but instead I was looking at the #Active number and therefore no matter how much I tried I could not work it out until the penny dropped.

Hi wicksie,
Trying to find the correct terms does make a difference. Indeed, it is section order. When I search “section order”, I got 167 threads, including one where I responded in detail:
How to order sections into JA News Module? thank a lot!
sateliosMy response was quite detailed:

April 18, 2009 at 6:23 am #301762You are quite right, the answers are there and for that I offer no excuses only apologies for messing the forum a tad, my search techniques and desire to push on without fully understanding the task need to take a back seat.
From this, I do vow to search far more thoroughly in future and even consider hitting the other template threads to search for an answer, at least that way I will know that I have not dragged up something that someone has previously so comprehensively answered, sorry again….and that is genuine. Thanks for educating me, I really do appreciate it.
Cheers

Wicksie</blockquote>Wicksie,
Sorry, English is not my main language. It is not my intention to educate you about how to search. I am sorry if I offended.
My main point is that, in one way or another, sometimes we just do not have the correct words at the tip of our tongue. And, that makes a big difference.
Check this out for example:
How is the icon before the URL generated?
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/how-is-the-icon-before-the-url-generated/I did not know what the correct term was “favicon”. But once that was pointed out, and the respondents provided more information, including useful links, the thread became a useful “tutorial” not only for myself but for everyone who has the same question.
My concern is that there are so many “solved” problems but quite often, if Joomlart staff answers a thread, they usually ask by PM for the Admin password, and other stuff. Then, it got solved — assuming that was the meaning of the thanks from the person who posted the original thread.
What gets me is that, neither the Joomlart staff or the original poster shares the solution to the problem. So, questions get asked over and over again.
This is even more significant because only 14% of the threads were ever Answered” (and answered does not mean it was solved.
So, we are not helping each other by not sharing how we solve a problem that confronts us.
I am a bit cranky tonight (or this morning) because of the Magento issue. So, on top of that, when I saw your post (I was about to point out the links to you actually, in case you have not solved it, yet), I have seen the “final posts” soo many times before — one of my peeves here in the Forum.
Were it not for members, like Scotty, Phil, Chris, Arvind, etc. and Moderators like Menalto, jsliao, and a few others plus a few Joomlart staff like Hainn, JA Developer, there would be more unanswered questions here.
I really do not know much myself, but what I learned from others, I try to share. I only stop when I feel that the other person has no desire to learn and just wanted to be spoonfed …
“Give me, give me the answer… I am to busy to learn”.
I don’t you are in that category because you actually solved your onw question.
Again, sorry if I offended you. So, I will stop here before I may bury myself further in the quicksand.:)

April 18, 2009 at 7:11 am #301764Hey Cornelio, no offence whatsoever and what I said I meant, I have been educated and for that I am grateful, I really mean it. Your English is great and your intention was given and received in entirely the context it was meant, thank you.

Wicksie,
And that is what a Forum should be about — to come to an understanding. And, if the parties cannot agree, at least to have an appreciation of what separates them.
We had a situation here with one guy who thought he was the most intelligent person in the world. He was putting down people, calling them names and presented himself, as if he knew everything there is to know about Joomlart templates. If someone criticizes him, he would lash out the foulest mouth you could ever imagine.
I ignored his posts for the most part, but he kept on injecting himself in my threads. At some point, I just got so fed up — and gave it to him.:) No foul words, of course, but words can still be sharper than the sharpest knife.
Cornelio
