    Hi Terence,

    How did you get that orange rectangle at the top?

    Can you tell us exactly what you did?

    Also, what version of Joomla did you use?

    Could you look at your Modules manager? Can you provide a “grab image” of the position of the

    JA News FrontPage
    JA News

    just don’t describe it, we want to see.

    Looking at your website, it looks like you are just starting. Did you consider starting with the Joomla-Teline II QuickStart kit? There are seveal good instructions on how to install them — one my Menalto, using another template, above you will see the one prepared by Hung, and in the Tutorials, there are others there, I think.

    If you follow as directed by the Menalto procedure, starting with the Quickstart kit you should have no problem getting the Demo page — then start from there.

    Thank You for the Speedy Reply Cornelio…

    Joomla Version is 1.0.15. The reason I don’t ever use the Quickstart is because I have a lovely Cpanel on my server with Fantastico – This installs Joomla on the fly 🙂

    I intstalled template, followed Hung’s instructions and installed both modules (JA-News & JA News Frontpage)

    Pupblished both in the ja-news position as instructed. At first the modules did not show up and I discovered my mistake is that they were not published on the HOME menu item. That is sorted but I still have the mentioned problem.

    JA News i have in Module Order 1
    JA News Frontpage I have in Module Order 2 – Would this make a difference ? By the way no matter what I try I can’t change this ?

    The Orange Block I did by altering the CSS in the template files –
    #ja-mainnav {
    border-top: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    border-right: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    border-left: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    background-color: #FF6600;
    in the Template.css

    and
    #ja-splitmenu a {
    display: block;
    float: left;
    text-decoration: none;
    padding: 4px 8px 3px;
    color: #333333;
    font-size: 92%;
    text-transform: UPPERCASE;
    border: 1px solid #FFFFFF;
    border-bottom: none;
    background-color: #FF6600;
    }
    in the ja.splitmenu.css

    Hi Terence,

    Yes, this is the culprit

    The Ja News FrontPage should be above the JA News

    JA News FrontPage => 1
    JA News => 2

    You should be able to use the up and down arrows, did you try this?

    Alternatively, if you look on the left side, you see

    Module Order: => Place JA News in Position 0 or 1

    Both should work, unless you lock something. Like the index.php layout.

    Terence,

    At this stage, your focus should be on learning how to do the basics — especially installing; because this will not be the last time you are going to do this.

    If all else is set up, database, username, password, and the QuickStart kit is uploaded, it takes me 5 minutes tops — even if I am watching television at the same time — to install Joomla 1.0x-Joomlart Template. That is how easy it is. You will learn more too.

    It takes me about -7-10 minutes for Joomla 1.5.x for the installation stage info.

    I did once do a Fantastico installation, and it worked. But, if something goes wrong, you do not know why. Also, when there are many updates, the version found in Fantastico is not always the latest. That is a security risk.

    After talking to the technical staff of my hosting service, I was persuaded that I have to learn to do stuff. This was way before Joomla.
