    I debugged both links that you mentioned above and I was able to find out that the problem comes from this file templates/ja_magz_ii/css/custom.css with

    body{
    font-family:Avenir , "Open Sans" , "Helvetica Neue" , Helvetica , Arial , Verdana , Roboto , "游ゴシック" , "Yu Gothic" , "游ゴシック体" , "YuGothic" , "ヒラギノ角ゴ Pro W3" , "Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro" , "Meiryo UI" , "メイリオ" , Meiryo , "MS Pゴシック" , "MS PGothic" , sans-serif;
    }

    Please change to a different font that supports both Japanese and German languages

    Hi,
    It’s very kind of you that you still try to solve the problem.
    But I am more and more convinced that this is not my problem.
    This is the issue/bug which occur on the platform
    multi-lingual site with Japanese

    Inserting the font-family which you found (custom css) was just one of my struggles a few days ago.
    Font is not the problem. I will be happy if Japanese characters are displayed with any sans-serif fonts and anti-alias function. Font type does not play any roll for me.
    As far as the Japanese language pages are concerned setting font on CSS does not affect at all.
    Somehow Japanese font (p-tag) works fine on the English/German language pages, but not on the Japanese language setting. (see the screenshots)

    Now I found out, on the video category, the Japanese leading text is not shown at all or shown only the first word and the rest are cut off.
    It means there are three issues which occur only under the Japanese language setting.
    1) Quality (display) of the Japanese characters without anti-alias.
    2) Header (background) colour according to the category colour: sometimes works, sometimes not.
    3) Only first Japanese word is shown on the leading text of the video category.

    Please see the screenshots.

    Don’t you know anyone who is working under the similar condition or can’t you perform the system test?
    When I find the time, I will try again to make a clean install on the empty path, only Magz ii (multi-lingual, English and Japanese) without any extensions and plugins.
    Then the bug will be clear … or maybe you are right.

    Best regards,
    Ichiro Nagata

    I fixed the problem video category as this solution here and you can see it from
    templates/ja_magz_ii/html/com_content/category/videos_item.php file

    Now, you can see it’s working as well

    Thank you very much.
    However the header colour is disappeared again and the quality of the Japanese characters are still bad.

    To make the bug clear I installed once again only Magz II with nothing else on the new URL.
    You can check and compare the Japanese and English pages.

    Once again, the template "Magz II" has problem to use on the Japanese language platform.

    • No leading text
    • Bad character quality
      These two are now clear.
      The heading colours were so far OK.

    Even if you kindly fixed the problem of showing the leading text, the quality of the Japanese characters is very important FOR ME.
    This kind of typographical issue using wrong UNI-code fonts for CJK occurs very often on the program which were developed on the Euro/American countries.
    But usually it can be fixed by changing the stylesheet.
    In your case "Magz II", there is no possibility to change the style for the leading text.
    At least I could not manage it.
    It is very kind of you that you were engaged with my problem.
    However as far as the such fundamental issues are not solved, unfortunately I cannot use this simple and restrained template.
    It is very frustrating to see that the Japanese are correctly and beautifully shown on the English language pages, but not on the Japanese.

    What did you change on your site?

    Please try to use this way to solve the problem on your site here

    Hello,
    I did not change anything.
    I never touch php-file by myself without a concrete proposal.
    The change on the "default.php" which you pointed out was already done as it should be.
    I think you changed it for me about a week ago, and it worked fine right after that.
    Now the issue came back somehow.
    Best regards,
    ichiro Nagata

    P.S.
    On the clean installed "Magz II", header background colour works well.
    So as you mentioned, perhaps the mistake is mine.
    But other issues remain on both, clean installed "Magz II" and this "Magz II".
