Hello all,

Being a newcomer to Joomla 1.6 & the T3 Framework, I’m trying to follow the very useful Joomla 1.6 and T3 Framework tutorials available on the JoomlArt Youtube channel and in the HTML documentation to make my way in the Joomla world.

So, here’s the method I followed (on my local machine) :

– Download & install Apache 2.2.17 + PHP 5.3.6 + MySQL 5.5.10 + phpMyAdmin 3.3.10
– Download & install the Joomla 1.6.1 french package from joomla.org (as the project I’m working on is intended to be administrated by french speaking only users) with the default sample data
– Download & install (from the Joomla Extension Manager) the T3 Framework 1.2.3 plugin + ja_t3_blank.v1.0.3 template from JoomlArt

To this point, everything worked fine. But when I tried to apply the ja_t3_blank template to the default Joomla website, the front-end searchbox (visible in the “Beez2” template) disappeared.
Then, following some advice found on the Joomlart forum, I tried to install a second instance of Joomla from the jatc_t3_blank_16_release.zip package. No problem then : the searchbox was at its place but I realized that the (tricky to install) default data were not the same… and that all the Joomla interface was in English – which is not a problem for me but is unsuitable for my users.

What would you advise me to do to – apart from giving English lessons ? Is there any mean to correctly run the T3 Framework on a standard Joomla installation (the problem also occurs with the English package) ? Or do I have to modify its content ? I feel lost in an ocean of questions, here…
