Hi everybody.
I apologize in advance if the topic was solved somewhere, but I could not find a solution for 2 days.I built a new site from the standard J2.5.11 examples. http://parcdesombrages.fr. Of course I used JAT3, and started to build my template. At some point the menus started not to unfold, only when I was registered, not on all pages (alas on most).
Other than that, when it works it works.
The only thing I am able to pin is that when the menu unfolds, the tag is shown with “over”, when it does not no “over”.
Thanks in advance.

Could you send me url of page where I can see this issue? Try to open some pages but the menu seems to function correctly.

June 12, 2013 at 12:52 pm #495636Hello Saguaros
Thanks for answering, and sorry for the delay, I was expecting an automatic e-mail.
To reproduce the problem, on Home, just connect as “testcop” pw “prila16”. Then the menu freezes. The top level item has the V sign for children but lack the “over” attribute. :-[
Does not depend on server nor browser (checked in linux / firefox, Windows7 / IE, android / firefox).
To get it back click into “Sondage” on the right and under “Vote” on “Voir details”. Then the menus unfold again.
Thanks again. I really have no clue. May be I broke something in the CSS.28137
Friendly
Mike
June 17, 2013 at 4:17 pm #496075New clues : I was able, mostly by trial and error, to determine some modules and components that cause the menu “freeze”.
My current list is :
- Adsmanager (Classifieds)
- Kunena (Forum)
- Simple file lister
What do these have in common that cause the problem?
I tried to install Jquery-Easy but no luck.
How can we solve the issue?I must add that all the installation is 100% std, and that this behavior was already existing on the Lan dev version.
Thank you in advance.
MichelJune 18, 2013 at 12:32 pm #496163This one cost me a lot of time, and pointed out my limits alas.
Of course switchin to CSS Menu solved the problem, but I am a little stubborn. The solution up to now for me was to install rhe JQuery-Easy plugin, using v 1.8 and disabling mootools in “advanced”.
Do not ask me more, that was magic for me. See Conflict-between-JA-T3-menus-and-Simple-Image-Gallery/page2.Happy if it was usefiul to some one. This is the game. :p

June 24, 2013 at 7:42 am #496668Hello
It was not a great fun, and moreover it is not ended (Tor-Tags does not work anymore).
The real issue is the fact that different extension teams do not use Jquery or Mootools in a coordinated way. This is very harmful to Joomla as a whole. Jquery-Easy is a fine tool but it should not exist with some coordination.
I am a bit surprised, since I dit not come across such difficulties two years ago in an other series of sites, with a very similar site configuration, which I reproduced on purpose, just to avoid such surprises ironically.
Thanks anyway. :-[

<blockquote>The real issue is the fact that different extension teams do not use Jquery or Mootools in a coordinated way</blockquote>
I agree but it’s so hard to control all cases since our framework/extension and 3rd party extensions may use different versions of Mootools or they use the same functions in JS – which will cause conflict. The common case I experienced with 3rd party extension is that they don’t provide option to decide it will not load JS if there’s been already same JS file loaded.
